I have a snipping tool option within my computer, or I also can use the snipping tool within Microsoft word. I use this tool in almost all my videos where I show how I create and design in Cricut Design Space.
The green paper is an image printed with sublimation ink, onto sublimation paper. Then using the heat press the sublimation ink activates and transfers to the shirt.
Awesome video! If you have a Sam's club near by you can purchase a very large roll of butcher paper. Is that a heather charcoal shirt? I am having an issue with what shirts bleach.
great video! one question..I had that big "square" you had on your pillow, on one of my shirts after using the heat press. If I use blowout paper on top of the sublimation print, that will stop it? thanks
If you accidentally sublimated your matt or pressing pillow you can cover it with butcher or parchment paper to protect from getting that image on the next substrate.
Thanks so much for watching! Try Google searching how to size images on a shirt, that is how I first started. Now, I size based on the image and how prominent I want it to look.

I’m new to sublimation but your videos are great!!! I have just made my first tumbler and also have the plus sign in the middle of my image when I copied it from DS to word. How do I fix this? Same thing that happened on your snowflake mug. Thanks!!
I ordered a bleached blank off etsy and a transfer too. I did it with the heatpress and did notice some browning of the "white" center square blank. Can you explain more about the peroxide and what to use, how to use, etc. again?
Sure thing. After you press, if you notice scorching you spray a light mist of hydrogen peroxide on the effected area. You then lower your press about an inch above your design for a few seconds to help evaporate the peroxide. This removes the scorch marks. You can also spray and then lay in the sun, or spray and throw in the dryer.
Hi Emma! Did you end up making a tutorial showing how to take a picture from your phone to sublimation paper with good quality intact? Thank you for another great tutorial! ❤🇦🇺
My printers are an Epson 15000 and 2760. I use Starcraft Sublimation paper. In this tutorial I didn't use paint, maybe you meant ink? I love Cosmo's ink.
Do you let the shirt dry after using the peroxide, or do you wash it while still wet? I’ve had so many failed shirts, I’m not sure if it’s to hot and the bleach dries to fast, or the bleach has eaten the shirt 🤦🏻♀️
I wash it just as soon as it is the color I want it to be. It doesn't need to be dry. I only spray peroxide to slow down the bleaching if I need to. I had wash with dawn dish soap before I throw it in the wash.
My favorite website to purchase T-shirts is Clothingshoponline.com For bleaching and sublimating I use the Gilden 64000 brand. Only the colors that have Heather before the name of the color work since those are 65% Poly / 35% Cotton.
Hi Emma Amazing job on the videos. The tutorials have helped me so much. I went to your Etsy shop to purchase the Frankenstein digital file and saw some t shirts you have with Leatherface and Michael Meyers etc. Would mind saying where you purchased those files from?
I'm so glad you like my videos! To be completely honest I do not recall who I purchased the screen prints from, it was a Destash Group on Facebook, she only had a few left and was trying to get rid of them before Halloween.
OMG I LOVE YOUR SHIRTS. DO YOU DO SPECIAL ORDERS. THE SHIRT YOUR WEARING IN THIS VID IS FRICKIN AMAZING!!! I WANT 1 BUT WITH A DIFFERENT DESIGN. IS THAT SOMETHING YOU WOULD DO?
As long as it’s not a copyright image I’d be happy to make you something custom, you can message me through my Etsy shop with what design you’re thinking of. Or you can watch the tutorial of me making the shirt and you can make one yourself.
I noticed at the end when you were sublimating the monster onto the shirt that you didn't have a piece of paper between the layers of the shirt. Is this something that needs to happen or does the ink not bleed through?
What exact shirt are you using?! I believe in another video you said 80% poly required. The Gildan g640 is not that high of a poly count. What brand and “model number” shirt are you using?!
Hi! Wow am i glad i found your page! You explain stuff so easily :) i did have two questions: i just purchased brown butcher paper and i noticed yours was white, do you think that color difference matters? And secondly when you mentioned a teflon sheet, is that similar to parchment paper? Thank you for any advice!! ❤️
Hello Lacy, thanks for watching! Yes, you can use butcher paper for Sublimation Printing but it must be white and unwaxed. This is what I found on Google about Teflon; Teflon will last longer, however teflon tends to have fibers going through the sheets that can impart a texture to the print. Parchment or kraft paper will tend to produce a smoother finish, though on some materials Teflon can produce a shinier finish
HI EMMA I LOVE THE WAY YOU TEACH. I HAVE A QUESTION FOR YOU SUBLIMATING AN IMAGE AFTER BLEACHING A SHIRT. WHY AFTER I FINISHED PRESSING THE IMAGE ON THE WHITE AREA WHY DID IT TURN YELLOW? WHAT DID I DO WRONG?
Thanks for watching Elizabeth! You did nothing wrong, this is called scorching and it is completely normal. All you need to do is spray a mist of hydrogen peroxide on that section of the shirt and then either let it sit in the sun, throw it in a warm dryer, or hover your heat press over it (without touching) for about 5-10 seconds.
I have a question. Was there a reason why you didn’t do the Frankenstein image in the front first, then the the sublimation tie dyed then the bleaching ?
Great question! Yes, it is very important to do that image last when doing this method. If you do that image first when you scrunch up the shirt the heat from the press will reactivate the sublimation ink and you will get ghosting all over your shirt from the main image.
This is not a dumb question. Adding heat to sublimation ink results in the ink coming back up onto your iron, that is why I always use blowout paper to protect my heat element on my press. If you iron it afterward you should use a piece of butcher paper or non-waxed parchment paper between your iron and the shirt.
@@EmmasCottage I noticed you didn't add water to the bleach, most videos i see they do 50% water and 50% bleach, does using straight bleach work better,? What are the best black shirts to use for bleaching and sublimation?
The only one I have found is the 67000 Pitch Black Mist, but it’s a lower Polyester count so the image won’t be as vibrant.
Your work is very beautiful, but how do you transfer the green paper to the shirt? 😮
The green paper is an image printed with sublimation ink, onto sublimation paper. Then using the heat press the sublimation ink activates and transfers to the shirt.
