- Only available from outlets outside of the USA, the JR DSMJ frequency-hopping 2.4GHz module and receivers are an alternative to the more common DSM2 system.
In this review, I look at DSMJ and how it compares to DSM2.
I also see how it performs when subjected to significant levels of interference.
The bottom line: it appears to be significantly more resilient than DSMJ but it is more expensive and lacks some features such as ModelMatch.
This was JR's first FHSS product and it will almost certainly be replaced by their new DMSS system which also includes telemetry. Watch for a review on that soon.

I love the segments w/ the spectrum analyzer. They are very informative
These in-depth technical reviews are great. Could you consider doing a tutorial on how to use a spectroscope and spectrum analyzer?
could you do that test with dsm2(spectrum)or direct me to where you already did that test. thanks and another great vid!
How does it compare to the FrSky?
I hope the FrSky w/ telemetry is a better chance than the JR's, just got one out of TradeMe :)
@RCModelReviews thank you
I have the old JR Galaxy 8 with the early frequency module. It's modules were interchangeable with several later JR TX modules. But i have been out of the hobby for about ten years and what happened after 2.4 came in I don't know as far as compatibility of 3rd party or availability of the ones you recommend in this video by JR. Would greatly appreciate advice as to the module(s) best suited between what is available currently (or recent used) that will physically fit in my Galaxy 8. Also do any of these work because of the Galaxy's older technology. As you probably know they were both FM and PCM depending on the module used. I have Spektrum DX6i but I love the feel of the Galaxy 8. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
will this work with a spektrun rx?
By the way, I am in the US so I guess some module JR has are not available?
What are you using for your spectrum analyzer? It looks to be PC based.
you definitely know your stuff, thanks for that!
first!
