Hey everyone! “Cameraman” here 😎✌🏼 Please consider giving this video a share to promote the old trucking morals of lending a helping hand and camaraderie. Y’all are a family out on the road as Shelby said. Let’s get this hashtag going: #notruckerleftbehind

Absolutely, Shelby and the incredible BKM* make great videos but dang, Dakota's subtitles are the best! (I mean, being in the cab all the time, and moving about to get different shots, and Dakota totally not reacting to them... the perfect fly on the wall!)

As a trucker that’s been in this for years , what you did in this situation shows your willingness to go beyond all obstacles to help a fellow trucker , god is with you , I only hope if I ever run into these types of problems I would be fortunate enough to have someone like you to come along and help . GOD BLESS YOU , BE SAFE OUT THERE
I forgot to say this on your previous video. You have one sweet dog. Dakota is so cute. That trailer really caught fire and thank god to the Fire Department. How bad was the damage??? Shelby your awesome to help that trucker. I foresee you getting help in return in the future. Good karma comes to those who help others.
Not as exciting i can tell u that. But this channel is good on making trucking some how awesome and interesting. Keep doing the good job enjoy watching ur vid keep them coming :)
As a retired vol fire/rescue and EMS worker for 35 years, I’ve seen a lot. But one of the most dangerous things you can do is to be on the side of the road at accident scene. So you be extra careful in the future. I don’t want you to get hurt. May I suggest you get a reflective vest or coat you could throw on in an emergency. That would help you to be seen. I applaud you for helping out. Not many people do that anymore. If I’m ever broken down on the side of the road, I could only hope you’d be the one who’d stop to help! Keep up the vids. I’m loving them! Be safe out there!
I forgot my vest at home. This was a brand new truck and I keep it on a hook by the door and just missed it on my way out. Usually I have everything packed into my truck so I’m ready for anything
Great job and back in the old days there would have been 25 trucks on the side of the road helping that guy. You did good stay safe and warm and see you later down the road
God bless you for stopping and helping! I'm glad that you all are safe! Like you said many just kept going and yes, on the Hwy they go the speed limit or above and that was dangerous because like you said you almost got hit! *Your cameraman is really a pro, making your journey exciting!* *I thought to mention, the trucks wheel on fire, was really something, but you might want to put a reflective vest on so the oncoming traffic can see you and maybe one of those green stick lights that can be attached to your jacket...* *thank God the firemen were able to put the fire out...one incredible seen and thank you for helping the truck driver. P.S. the scenery of the journey is breathtaking, people don't need to travel overseas, we here in the United States have it all, we're one blessed country!* *Thanks again for the video!*

I don't think I had ever seen a dog eat fruit, let alone so carefully, it really is cute! Thanks so much for stopping and helping, hopefully something like that never happens to you but I sure hope people would stop to help you out too! On a last note, that toy at the end is adorable!
Awesome to see you stopping to help. I would recommend you get some tactical flashlights that have the strobe feature for it will make it easier for people to see you. I would also recommend getting roadside flares because the only time the reflectors work is when they are hit with light. Flares, especially in this situation with all the smoke, can be seen whether light hits them or not. Might also help to have a reflective vest with battery powered strobes attached so people can see you as you're laying the triangles and flares out. I have all this in my roadside kit in my jeep I would highly recommend you do the same. Good to see everyone was okay and it didn't get worse than it did.
@@ShelbyHBTM I personally would recommend getting flares yourself just for that extra bit of safety but it's good to see you immediately thought of putting out the triangles when no one else did.

We use old truck wheels for campfires at the beach that last all weekend. The wind won't blow it out once the magnesium starts, nearly impossible to extinguish either a Halon extinguisher or bury it in sand to deplete the oxygen. The brakes probably got hot which ignited the gear oil in the hubs, which started the tire burning which then created enough heat to ignite the magnesium wheel, all easily extinguished except for the wheel. Thus the reason most companies use steel wheels on their trailers to protect their loads. If you've got aluminum(magnesium) wheels on the trailer and they ignite, get that truck uncoupled and away from the trailer a couple hundred feet, grab some marshmallows and enjoy s'mores while you text the insurance company that your going to flip burgers at McDonald's for your next job....😂👍
I had a trailer fire last year. Good times. Took the fire department half an hour to get there, by that time the flames were 30 feet high, lost everything! 😅
This is why every truck driver needs to have a good working CB radio in their truck. It can be used as a tool to talk with other drivers when bored or in this case, warn other drivers of what's going on ahead. Too many drivers out there nowadays don't even have one in their truck. I can't tell you how many times my CB has saved me while out on the road. Good on you for stepping up and helping out any way you could. Not many drivers now would even stop. They'd just keep going and take a video of it with their phone while driving by.
Young lady I drove OTR for almost 40 years and I will tell you that the days of drivers stopping to help have come and gone. I've been retired for seven years and I really don't miss it. You be safe out there because you are in a Ruthless profession.
The editing throughout the background music segments in this one is amazing beyond words! I'm sure it took endless hours to piece it all together for our enjoyment. Good stuff!
Thanks for exemplifying the traits that should be common but aren't. Helping those in need, keeping others safe and being kind to each other is so important.
I wish people would stop using the hero term for every thing, being a hero is a selfless act, that's what a Hero is, firemen fighting a fire is there job
My dad is and has been an OTR Trucker for about 30+ years! I love the truck and grew up in one most of my "pre education" life! One thing that my dad really mentions is that the old school way of trucking has changed. He says that if someone would break down, it seemed like you had a line up of men/women wanting to help. I worry about him a lot of the time BUT it really great to see that there is still kind and caring individuals looking out not only for other truckers but my old man!! Thanks for sharing this video !!
Want to say the cinematic shots looked great! And just amazing quality! And not to be weird but you also have very pretty eyes as well and you were also caring to stop and help out with the fire bc alot of people wouldn't have done that so mad Respect!
It’s nice to see the stop and help attitude in other young people!! That’s how my family raised me and my sister, we’d always roll down windows on the highway if someone’s hood wasn’t down right or if someone was hauling a camper with a door open or something. When you take the five minutes to stop and help that will stick with you and with them for a long time and will always come back around ☺️

The world needs more happy and positive people like this young lady. Thanks for being a awesome person who cares and does the right thing when needed. Big respect.
It's so nice to see people stopping to help their fellow humans. In this case, a trucker helping a trucker, but it's beyond trucking. It's one human helping another human in need. I'm so glad everyone is ok. That fire got super intense and large! Thank you Bodi, for attempting to extinguish the fire BEFORE grabbing the camera. You also put another humans need before your own, and I respect that. Props to both of you!!! You probably saved some traffic lives at least by providing visibility......
Bub Zilla absolutely. We made sure to everything we could to help (use fire extinguisher and call 911) before the camera was even a thought. I’ll never understand the thought of recording video before helping another person. That’s beyond my morals and against my training as a police officer I guess 🤷🏻♂️
@@socal87border True that! I'm not a police officer, nor do I have any of that kind of training, but I do have a mom who instilled the same moral values. I never understood people who record instead of helping either..... That upsets me actually. So selfish. Thanks again for all you do, bro! You're truly appreciated... 🙂🙂🙂
Do you have a reflective vest or something in your truck easy to get to for unfortunate circumstances like this? I hate how dangerous it is ): Sending love your way!!
Forwarding on a couple of ideas. 1 - Have a second vest that you “pair” over the top of your jacket (slightly dorky) so it’s always there. 2 - get some reflective stripes (not necessarily hi-vis) to strategically place (back, sleeves, etc). Not super obvious, but definitely better than nothing
I've always enjoy these videos: from the banter between Shelby and Dakota, to the music that plays as they hit the road, stops/break time, as well as the Q&A's. I can't forget to mention the insight we get concerning the aforementioned RUclipsr's backstory (which makes us want to know more about them). Everyone should take a page out of Shelby's book (stopping to help and not speeding past a truck that is on fire).
Incredible video BKM! Loved the break stop for a nature walk, cinematography and music was exceptional...yes...right out of Middle Earth. Really enjoy hearing Shelby's story telling - fire dialog and video was exciting. Nice team work!
This video hit me hard!!! I am so glad everyone is ok! This put me in tears! I have both trucker's in my family but mainly police officers, EMT'S, firefighter's, army and marines and yall as a family don't get the credit yall all deserve!!! Please help each other out! At the end of the day we all are just trying to make a living and get home to our families safely. I'm so glad your sharing how raw it really is out there! #Black Kodiak media your awesome at your job! You may not think your professional but yes you are! Your work, the quality and detailed is on point! You need to be giving yourself more credit. #notruckerleftbehind 🚛⛟🛑🚒🚑🚔❤🙏
Exactly... Have to cool the brakes down to prevent/stop the fire. ABC will work on the rubber once the brakes are cool enough to not ignite or reignite the rubber.
@@waynelandry9000 i'm thinking that's far more likely. if he was on the brakes, surely his truck brakes would go first as they do, being that the trailer brakes aren't as strong/the power favours the truck brakes over the trailer. For obvious reason :)

Reflective safety vest is mandatory for many trucking carriers and shipping facilities too.

to many people living on top and too close...coronavirus was made to reduce the aging population induced by insurance companies and AFCA.
Thanks for exemplifying the traits that should be common but aren't. Helping those in need, keeping others safe and being kind to each other is so important.
and the congratulation to the departament fire taht assisted fast and efective realy are heroes
I wish people would stop using the hero term for every thing, being a hero is a selfless act, that's what a Hero is, firemen fighting a fire is there job
No not Heroes, there doing there job, look up what a hero is, then you may understand
Love love love your videos! I’ve been looking forward to this video since there was a clip of it from your last video. Amazing work and footage!
That was very cool of you
stopping to let the driver know that his trailer brakes were on fire & setting up the triangles to warn others
Love your videos! I pray that you’ll be safe out there, people just don’t pay attention while there driving anymore.. be safe❤️❤️
Wow! That escalated quickly! 🔥 Props to y'all for doing what you could to help out!
That was intense. Rain rain rain on the East coast. Great video you guys take it easy out there.

I drove that route for the first time this last Sunday. Absolutely beautiful! Coming around the corner and seeing Mount Hood was amazing.
Well that escalated quickly! Fantastic editing to there camera man!
I just want to say thanks for putting up these videos. I have been a truck driver for Last 5 Years you inspired me to do my own Trucking Channel from Canada. Keep the shiny side up and the black side down!
It’s awesome to know you were through my neck of the woods! That part of 84 is probably the most scenic going through the gorge!
I'm glad no one was hurt and sorry that this happened, but also what an awesome opportunity for the videographer!
Man, I wish I can go do something like that. I love to travel an be a trucker, It's always something I wanted to do an because it looks so fun an awesome! An that awesome for you to take your time to help someone in that situation. Have a wonderful day. God Bless You!
chezch sheperd the most amazing dog ever I had 5 of them at same time for ten years could open doors windows and never leave the property very loyal and loving dogs happy trucking be safe
Nice video
You need to wear something reflective at night. 🙂
Totally agree. I wish shed wear a vest driving at all times
gran fan
The world needs more happy and positive people like this young lady. Thanks for being a awesome person who cares and does the right thing when needed. Big respect.
Awesome video! Makes me miss my days up in the Northwest!
I forgot it at home. I was very upset about it. That was my mistake.
My dog is Dakota too. Golden retriever though. It sure makes driving Gooder.
Incredible video BKM! Loved the break stop for a nature walk, cinematography and music was exceptional...yes...right out of Middle Earth. Really enjoy hearing Shelby's story telling - fire dialog and video was exciting. Nice team work!
Also I hope the driver unhooked his tractor to save it!
This is why I carry two 20lb class D fire extinguishers. ABC extinguishers do absolutely nothing for a brake fire.
Exactly... Have to cool the brakes down to prevent/stop the fire. ABC will work on the rubber once the brakes are cool enough to not ignite or reignite the rubber.
You represent the industry well. We need more drivers with your attitude and character.
The driver must have been riding on those brakes.
You need to wear some reflective vest.
Glad no one was hurt.
or a brake pod could of locked up
@@waynelandry9000 i'm thinking that's far more likely. if he was on the brakes, surely his truck brakes would go first as they do, being that the trailer brakes aren't as strong/the power favours the truck brakes over the trailer. For obvious reason :)
Or a wheel bearing......i had one go on my rear trailer about 3 year's ago, burnt it to the ground.
@@charliewoodbury9961 Or that, that makes sense. Also, can't have been a very nice experience ay
@@jonnywilson9117 100% correct his drives would lite up first
Thanks for helping the world!
