@@milliethedilly Right?? I browsed the campus to find my classes a few days ago but I just know when I get there I'm going to still be wandering 😭 when do your classes end?
Things to know BEFORE going to Community College. There are 3-4 destinations that Community College can take you. 1. TRANSFER to a 4 year university. Make sure ALL of your units/classes are TRANSFER UNITS
Another tip for remembering your schedule/room numbers is to make your schedule your lock screen on your phone. Instead of looking like you’re lost and don’t know where you’re going, you’ll just appear to be checking your phone. Worked like a charm all throughout high school and my freshman year of college ☺️
Is a laptop necessary? Shit. I start school in 10 days. It's my first time at college and I graduated high school 16 years ago. We didn't have laptops for school back then. Am I going to need one for college? Financial aid is covering my tuition... I definitely cant afford a laptop. I am going for drug and alcohol counseling at community. I am defi6 a written note taker and I do have a tablet and a home computer.
First of all Congratulations! You are moving towards your goals and it’s awesome that you are taking the time to focus on your education. It’ll be okay! The library should have computers and I would ask for a possibility you can rent it out just in case you have reports you’ll need to write. I would consider in the mean time saving up for a laptop, it could come in handy not just now but also in your future. Nothing fancy is needed just something to get the work done.
@@TheMBlog thank you so much! I'm really excited and binge watching your videos so I can be prepared. I already have a list of things to do on orientation day (for instance, I either don't have or just don't know my student email address?). I do have a desktop computer in my house and a flash drive, so I can do any reports on there and also print things out at the library with my flash drive. Thanks so much for responding!
This is a terrific and thorough list! You even mentioned about waitlist. Another thing to tell students is to be prepared to be graded on very few things. For example, a grade from an English 101 class may consists of only essays. However, there still are instructors that assign lots of busy work so receiving a 0 on one assignment won't lower your grade to a D or C automatically. However, a student should never expect to get themselves out of the hole once they are in. And never argue with a teacher. However, having said that, sometimes teachers will bump up a grade a little bit if they know you are trying. Hence, if you find yourself in the hole, keep working hard and a teacher might bump your grade to a 2.0 (c) if you are at a 1.8 (C - ).
Wow that’s awesome! And I would say to just keep up with your reading, take notes of the reading and then make your own study sheet. I do this all the time and by the time I get to the final I have notes and study sheets to look at :) Good luck!
The M Blog I felt like the topic sentence was a little bit unnecessary. The repetition that they kept emphasizing would have been helpful tho. Thank you so much for your vids. I am starting CC in late September and they are really helpful.
Jaquelin Polanco They’re needed in the sense that a lot of assignments may be listed/turned in online, or you might like taking notes on .docx instead of handwriting them. However, if you don’t like typing your notes out, you don’t need a laptop because for the online homework, you can either use a computer from home or your school library. Hope this helps!
I emailed a professor to add me to his wait-list for his class and he said to show up on the first day and he will add me to the wait list. When do I know if I get the class?
Great! He’ll give you a code or he will add you automatically. The code is entered through your school registration portal. Where it says waitlist you change to add and it’ll ask for the code your prof gives you. If he adds you automatically then you’ll see it immediately on your school portal.
Angel Love Ah i see. I'm pretty awkward one on one with my professors so i tend to stay away from office hours. But, I'll be sure to take advantage of the tutoring my school offers and try to make a study group with some classmates like you mentioned.
Angel Love I tried going to office hours in my first semester 5 months ago, but they never go well. You'll cringe if you see me trying to interact with my professors alone or in one on one conversations. I prefer groups. But, I guess I'll try to go to my calc's office hours next semester. Anyways, thanks so much for the help. I really appreciate it and good luck next semester or quarter.
I did! You’ll love it so much, the nerves are so normal (I still get them) but just know it’ll all be ok! I’d for sure recommend to join AGS and the student Senate
The M Blog thank you so much for the tips!! i was thinking bout doin that student ambassador thing but idk...i didnt even think bout getting right into learning the material or outline on the first day so thats a major plus to be aware of

Thanks. I’m a transfer. I’ve always wanted to do “AT LEAST” 4 years I college. I’m glad I’m doing community first. 🥰
I keep on seeing you in RUclips comment sections of cc videos and you are being super helpful!!! Thank you so much 😊
