This wasn't a parody it was a homage. They loved MJ and MJ loved this too. Remember when this came out and they nailed the riff completely. Just shows how MJ impacted all music styles and audiences
This was before MJ's passing he gave the nod, that's why there's so many references from the video slicing to the sewers steam the light-up sidewalk from Billie Jean the & the end guy is supposed to be from thriller same with the lady jumping in the pool with the wolf mask the leaning stances the jumping on the car all these are MJ video references
I see a lot of these reaction videos to this song, and it boggles my mind that no one either gets all the video references or just doesn't comment on them.
Easter eggs up the ying yang. The kid was dancing in front of the Jackson household where Michael grew up. The chair was a white glove complete with Bubbles the chimp. The creepy dude at the end with Elizabeth Taylor's tattoo on his back was bass player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Plus many video references. Also the flume of smoke was indication of when Pepsi caught Michael on fire.
This video is just a love song to Michael Jackson. Every visual in this video has something to do with Jackson and his career, from the Thriller video homages, to the glove chair and Bubbles the Chimp, to the last frame of the guy with the Elizabeth Taylor tattoo on his back. The song didn't change much, just a little harder on the music, but the video is brilliant.
This video was huge in the 90's and AAF was a big name, especially with punk rock really making a name for itself at the time. M.J. loved the cover and approved it. The video has so many references to M.J.'s music career and videos that even the most devout fans usually miss at least one or two.
Great reaction guys! So glad you caught the reference to other MJ songs. They incorporated quite a few. From Thriller, to Billie Jean, Bad, The sequin glove chair, the monkey, and so many more. *Still hoping you'll get to; Jeff Healy "See the light" (night music). You guys will be so impressed by his amazing talent.
The chair represents Michael Jackson's glove the monkey represents Michael Jackson's monkey bubbles there's references to Michael Jackson's videos all throughout this video
I remember when this first came out. LOVED IT THEN, LOVE IT NOW. The last part of the video is a "homage" to MJ's music video Thriller. Every reaction I've seen for this video think the last part is "creepy", but if you haven't seen Thriller you won't understand why they ended the video that way. 😉
1. that was not a monkey, that was a chimp 2. Both of those images were complete omages to Michael, along with the light up sidewalk, the asian school girl fans and so many more in this video.
MJ gave his personal approval when asked if they could pay respect to MJ and all his songs through this amazing tribute song by AAF. I think the bass player's uncle was or knew Michael Jackson's long time drummer and that is how the connect happened. Correct me if I am incorrect.
Hey guys, my home country is Wales 🏴 UK 🇬🇧 I’ve read that MJ was thrilled with this and although he passed in 2009, in 2011 my li’l ol’ home country Wales were hosts for the Michael Forever - Tribute Concert at our 75,000 seater Millenium Stadium, itmarked what would have been MJ’s 40th anniversary as a solo artist. Among the artists invited by the Jackson family to take part were Alien Ant Farm! Others performing included Beyoncé, Christine Aguilera, Ne-Yo, Jamie Fox, Gladys Knight, the Jackson Brothers and La Toya to name a few! 😊🏴🇬🇧🇺🇸
one of the best covers of his song .and the video still looks good!beatfreaks!they also have a very fun cover/video of his song, which if i remember correctly is also a cover!
The chair was representing Michael’s glove from Billy Jean and the monkey was representing Michael’s monkey Bubbles. This song was approved and liked by MJ.
Great you like the Humor and their Skills with which they perform that Classics;) I wouldnt call it an Cover, its more of an tribute, puttin themselfs on the laugh for their Moves, while all this little iconic Michael Moments. Its 22 Yrs ago, that This Album did Launch....i am soooo...old.:) If i didnt missunderstood something they still toured last Year in the States. Shein Commercial in German? Did i miss something, thought yopu were based in the States:) Anyway, its an great Fingerprint, i can assure this Video is actual, just had the Same Popup Yesterday:) THX for the Recap, till the Next. Here's another version, you might want to get a little salsa out of this version. Tony Succar is a latin jazz percussionist from Peru and he is a super big fan of Michael Jackson. He got some singers and put together a latin tribute to MJ. In this particular version, he brought Jean Rodriguez (Luis Fonsi's brother, you know, the guy who sung Despasito) to sing Smooth Criminal. Here I leave you the best version that's available on RUclips: ruclips.net/video/BjbDSTQ-4mk/видео.htmlsi=wNjUjNmIVrAfTYQK
They actually had the ok from Michael Jackson but I think he died before this was released. The guy at the end was Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He had contacts in like the Thriller video 😊
2k1 to 2k9. and there is an radio interview, where MJ talks about the Song. Gosh this man, what an gentle Soul, no matter what shit they did throw at Him. ruclips.net/video/bHztNvwA7mc/видео.html and thats not Flea, but who cares.
Hey B&B, please check out One Sweet Day, Boys To Men ft. Mariah Carey cover by Budakel ft. Katrina Velarde, will not disappoint I swear, I put my request on the line and won't bugbyou guys with request no more..
This wasn't a parody it was a homage. They loved MJ and MJ loved this too. Remember when this came out and they nailed the riff completely. Just shows how MJ impacted all music styles and audiences
There are interviews where MJ says he loves this! He gave them permission to do this.
Bubbles the chimp and the glove that he used as a chair; the kid doing his moves with a mask like Micheal wore for quite some time.
@@MooreCEJr correct, I could have kept going but my comment was getting along lol
She called the glove chair out and i'll give that props because very few people see past bubbles. The char was 100% tribute to his glove.
The drummer is also wearing a single silver glove
I see a lot of these reaction videos to this song, and it boggles my mind that no one either gets all the video references or just doesn't comment on them.
The BTS is insane. MJ knew and approved
Yeah M.J. said that he really liked the cover….and of course he gave them permission!!! How else could he have made sure that he got paid to?😂
Easter eggs up the ying yang. The kid was dancing in front of the Jackson household where Michael grew up. The chair was a white glove complete with Bubbles the chimp. No, the creepy guy really wasn't Flea...
Had to watch u do this one. One of my favorite covers of all time. Back in the day, this was a jam. and endorsed by M.J. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
You can tell who didn't watch Michael Jackson music videos by their reaction to this video

The greatest homage video to Mike I've ever seen!! Great reaction folks!!

Great job with your reaction to The Cover of Smooth Criminal for Alien Ant farm Originally done By MJ they killed it and the video Kick Butt.
MJ gave his personal approval when asked if they could pay respect to MJ and all his songs through this amazing tribute song by AAF. I think the bass player's uncle was or knew Michael Jackson's long time drummer and that is how the connect happened. Correct me if I am incorrect.

This version hors hard. Vocalist is great, but the guitars and drummer are going off on another level. Fire
The last guy from the video is Flea from Red Hot Chilly Peppers. 😆 🤣 Their bass player
one of the best covers of his song .and the video still looks good!beatfreaks!they also have a very fun cover/video of his song, which if i remember correctly is also a cover!

There’s no way you grew up in America without hearing this song… unless you didn’t have a radio or MTV

This version is better than Michaels IMO
The kid is dancing in front of MJ’s childhood home.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
WooHoo!! and Thank You!! 🖒🖒
Here is an old great love song called "Fly Me To The Moon" sung by the late great Tony Bennett.
Frank Sinatra version is better…produced by Quincy Jones
I like it better than original

To be honest I've always noticed the monkey but I didn't realize how wacky was the chair until she pointed it out. 3:42
Her laugh at 3:53 even sounded like a monkey lol
All parts from mj videos are incorporated
Much better.
I guess MJ also did this song but I've never heard him doing it.
I think they missed most of the references to MJ’s videos
this guy kinda looks like Scott Stapp
I was the one thousandth like.
Awesome cover. The lead singer might be the most awkward front man I've ever seen lol.
I am in this video.
is that what u think?
They actually had the ok from Michael Jackson but I think he died before this was released. The guy at the end was Flea from The Red Hot Chili Peppers. He had contacts in like the Thriller video 😊
Release date 2001
MJ 2009
The guy at the end of the video was NOT Flea. You might wanna actually think before spout nonsense.
2k1 to 2k9. and there is an radio interview, where MJ talks about the Song. Gosh this man, what an gentle Soul, no matter what shit they did throw at Him.

You missed every single reference in the video, congrats
The drummers one sequin glove. Ye seem weary jumps on top of the car hood red over shoulder m.j. flag. The socks so many MJ Easter eggs
PREDICTIVE PROGRAMMING KID WITH THE MASK .!!!
Or just the fact Michael wore a mask in 2005 ?
