Since this is an engineering building, it seems the architect wanted to show off how elevators work by "peeling back" the wall of a traditional elevator shaft to reveal what you typically can't see. That's why it's not glass. It was intentionally done this way for the aesthetic. If it were glass, it would lose that aesthetic of the shaft disappearing ("a look behind the walls") because it would look like any old atrium with glass elevators.
I just think it's pathetic, though.
That shaft view from the outside is absolutely awesome!!
Cool elevator.
There are lots of such elevators in Vienna, Austria. Many old buildings have them running through the staircase and the shaft is open on three sides, but the cabs are closed, with a few exceptions.
Nice elevator
The old Thyssens in Plaza Surabaya also does that. The elevator I mean was originally a glass elevator but the scenic wall were blocked off from the inside.
“A glass elevator that is not glass.” ABSOLUTE BUMMER! 😓
I agree.
The elevators are cool, but yeah I agree, it would be far more interesting if it was all glass.
Yeah I don’t know why it’s not glass usually whenever the elevator is glass it will be safer
Looks like a crossbreed between a Dover and a US Elevator 😆
One of the elevators has a wall behind it but i personally think both should have glass exterior and have a glass cab
It's not that it *could've* been made glass, it *should've* been made glass!
Are those Epco/Adams or custom Fujitech buttons?
Exactly what Filechia would say!
That's bizarre!
That's a huge fail. The way it's open to show as a metal box is an eyesore.
My county has a elevator shaft that is open on the second and third floor but the elevator is not glass
Why did they stoop so low?
That's so weird how these aren't glass but the shafts are glass! That makes no sense! How can you tell these are Fujitec?
LOL 😂
It’s an engineering building I imagine it’s not meant to be glass
Sounds like a Thyssenkrupp Buzz
It kinda does but sounds terrible
Hello my friend it sounds like the elevator needs a little bit of work
Those could have been easily made of glass.
It don't makes any sense to have an exposed elevator shaft, with the elevator not being glass.
Bummer! Fujitech elevators are nice though.
This one is quite bad.
Fujitec *makes a non glass elevator*
Montgomery *makes 10K glass elevators*
me: *WHY FUJITEC*
It's a college campus. They don't want students etching graffiti into the glass. Stainless steel and fake wood is cheaper to maintain and purchase
These would’ve been easily been made glass.
That is an odd elevator
Not bad elevator's, but the fact that these aren't glass is unbelievably stupid.
Why would someone make a glass elevator setup and not make the elevator glass? It doesn't even look good!
Yeah I know! It makes no sense at all!
it looks terrible.
@@DieselDucy yeah it does! I agree!
You might as well holler at who did this setup!
No I'm just kidding 😂 🤣😂
Anti-scenic. I don't like this elevator.
