I love this production of merry widow for several reasons. My parents were born in Montenegro 🇲🇪.I speak the language all my life.I love the way they include excerpts of the language.This is my culture.I also love 💘 the same translation in the san diego production with Beverly Sills later in new york city opera
Very good indeed. The 'cavalier'duet (I think cut short) is translated very well, a million miles better than an english one I've seen that completely eliminates the central tension between Hanna & Danilo. Only the English can do that. The Americans (New York), characteristically, leave it out altogether!
