Despite its abandoned state I love Combined Arms and zero regrets purchasing it. I hope they put some resources into it some day, it'll especially improve Apache and Hind gameplay imo.
looks like a lot of fun for a small price, i easily spend more time creating battle scenarios than practicing my planes and ED seems to want to evolve to a more full scale war sim than just an aircraft sim on top of a warzone so they may get back to it
Yeah 100% agree. They definitely mentioned with increase in plane modules in game now, there's eventually going to be stage when have to look at ground. Even already watching mortars & tanks battling is a lot of fun. I put a few ww2 planes above a town when normandy 2 came out & had a ball watching flack firing & dogfights above while driving around in jeep. Can't wait to see in 10yrs time
@@lankypilot778 its definitely on my list now for next sale, while the first oerson vehicle control seems mostly like a fun gimmick now, I want to be able to send forces around the map to support me doing an air assault for example
Good fun Lanky. I once set a mission up for my friends where we had to drive back from R&R in a local town. I set up an ambush along the way back to base. Fun times.
finally a technical! But is a shame you can´t drive the firetruck HMTT.. it is the best to land planes like the CEII on and that would probably be a fun multiplayer stunt..
You can "unhook" by suspending headtracker leaving you facing forward, then use the mouse to look around. Might also help to lock "turret" straight ahead-compass rose top right.
Yeah it definitely can cause problems with the weapons & needs to be disabled when using. Altho I haven't had a problem actually having it active tho. I know few yrs back it wasn't an option to use, but since it was made available it's been reliable for me.
Hi, do you mean first persoon for combined arms & driving vehicles? or DCS in general? If you have working head tracking in aircraft it should work the same with vehicles, I don't remember setting it up in control section. Altho if its not working, you may have to
thank you for your reply. I use the Tobii Eye Tracker and it works for the first person view of the aircraft, but not for the first person view of the weapon/vehicle combination. Could it be related to not being able to use external head tracking? (Tobii eye tracker does not support head tracking from an external perspective in DCS World.)@@lankypilot778
I went back into Syria afterwards, I found a lot of similarities but overall the scope & detail still puts it ahead I'd agree. Very impressed with the effort in Sinai map tho
This is easily the biggest disappointment of DCS. It has so much potential, but it's largely broken because of the horrible pathfinding and AI. It should be free in it's current state. $40 USD is laughably bad value. $15 maybe...
Yeah I'm dying for them to allocate some people to it. Without knowing how resources are spread around it's hard, there's a lot of priorities to juggle I'm sure. I'm guessing, the sales wouldn't be massive at that high price so might be seen as low priority. And I doubt they would expand further if were made free. Also I have a feeling a good chunk of community who are focused on flight sim aspect would be opposed to manpower been allocated to it over other areas. One day hopefully tho

Informative and really entertaining. Thanks.

Haha never in a mullion yrs would I have thought of landing a plane of the HMTT 😅 challenge accepted
They could easily model the ground units.
What do you mean? Ground units are modeled. He's driving them.
@@Solo6R Talking about inside of tanks and other units. DCS could be a Tank Simulator also if they wanted to.
@@ComdrStew Not exactly "easily", but it would be worth the while.
Need to get a petition going lol. I'm sure there would be some people opposed to resources been put on ground units too
2 years for the b1, b52 and s3 models 💀💀
first view! first like!
For some reason I have a hard time getting TrackIR to work in the CA vehicles

How do you make head tracker work in first person view?

I only have the ww2 asset pack i have the jeep its checked as player can drive. I can't drive
You will need the combined arms module too
@@lankypilot778 Cool next sale I guess. Thanks
Yeah I'd definitely wait for sale, never too far away. I'm hoping one day they make it part of base game tho so everyone can enjoy it
this map look a lot less detailed on the ground than the syria map
