This reminds me of the thermarest compressible pillow, which I own and love. It folds up in a similar way but also has a cord to secure it and also only ways 7 ounces. It's a good middle-of-the-road choice for someone like me, who hates inflatable pillows.

I just bought the trekology version of that thermarest pillow, same weight 7oz. And I love it! Me and the fam even use it at home for naps on the couch and stuff and backpacking cuz it’s so much better that sleeping on a balloon! I’m curious what the difference is between the thermarest and trekology though. If anyone knows and would like to share I’d appreciate it!

+1 for the Thermarest compressible pillow. It's amazing and I always get a good night's sleep on it but I don't bring it on backpacking trips anymore because it just takes up too much space in my pack. I use an inflatable very similar to the trekology and it's fine if you slip a over tshirt or something to use as a pillowcase over it. Also the Thermarest pillow has been around for like 20 years I'm surprised more people haven't heard of it.

After seeing this video I got the My Pillow. Dude, this is the one. I sleep in a hammock and after 10+ years I've never loved any pillow solution before this. The weight is worth it to me. Its seriously perfect for me. Also thanks to this guy I'm self conscious of garish colors in my kit and have eliminated all orange and zombie green. I'm classy.

Great video, pillows can really make or break a nights sleep. I use the Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow (small), similar design and it's a little lighter at 7 oz. It was a total game changer for me (switched from the trekology ultralight).

I do the same thing. I bought my first one a few years ago. They don't wash well so I'm on my third one at this point. I've thought about cutting it in half, adding a little stuffing to it and sewing it up to save both space and weight.

I have all the pillows for camping. I now only use my travel My Pillow. I even have the Nemo Fillo and the My Pillow is just better. I don't think it takes up that much space in my pack at all but I'm also not doing 10 miles a day. Sleep is so important to me that even if I did long distances I would probably still pack my My Pillow. Thanks for the video!

Love my Outdoor Vital "free" pillow. A smaller air pillow. I let air out to suit and my head doesn't sink in because of it's smaller size then I put it in a Thermarest pillow case. Replaced my home bed pillow with it.

I bought a few Thermarest roll up pillows a couple of years ago for family camping. Before Christmas, I saw some MyPillow travel pillows that were similar in size and design, and decided to pick a couple up at $15 apiece at the local Menards hardware store. I've had the full-sized MyPillows for at least 5 years for regular use and the travel version is just as comfortable. Granted, it's not as small or light as a Trekology pillow but it's a heck of a lot more comfortable.

I use a memory foam pillow at home so the sts works great for me. My Trekology pillow failed miserably. After a few uses it developed leaks all over the place. A pillow as a side sleeper is a must.

The Nemo Fillo is heavy because they use memory foam. (Like MyPillow) Memory foam is some of the heaviest foam on the market. I used to have a Fillo and I replaced the memory foam with a piece of 1.5” thick standard upholstery foam that I cut out. It didn’t compress as much but it was way lighter. But overall I didn’t like the way that pillow had no baffles or structure to the blowup.

I didn't want to like the Nemo Fillo because I didn't want to carry the weight over my Trekology pillow, but man. Try one. Nemo knows how to make great stuff and the fillo is no exception. I never sleep through the entire night because of past events but the fillo cut down on my wakeups substantially and I fall asleep much faster.

About a year ago, I took a My Pillow and removed some of the stuffing. I placed the stuffing in a lighter handmade pillow case. I sleep with it on top of my inflatable pillow. It gives just a bit of extra height, which I need as a side sleeper and provides some softer padding. It weighs about 2 oz and packs down fairly small. My daughter in laws family owns one of the places that makes the pillow cases for My Pillow. I've often thought someone should reach out to Mike who owns MyPillow and ask him to create something for us bsckpackers. Maybe you could do some field testing on a prototype? I can just see you and Mike in a MyPillow backpacking commercial. Lol

I love my Nemo Philo Elite Luxury pillow. This thing does look super comfortable, I'd actually consider getting one of these for shorter mileage trips. Or when I take my ULA ohm pack and go "heavy" for fishing trips deep inside GSMNP or Linville Gorge, where I'll make a base camp and venture up/down stream then return and sleep at camp. For shorter trips why not bring all the luxuries? No reason not to. Now if I am doing 12+miles a day at Linville, they yeah pack light as possible and stay under 25lbs "wet weight."

I love my Trekology, for the versatility combined with how surprisingly comfy it is*; I have actually even turned down the StS Aeros it was originally made to ape, in favour of it. When I'm feeling luxe, I bring my StS Foamcore Pillow (in L) for the perfect support all night long; it's nowhere near as compact, obvs, but it does roll up small _enough_ that I can justify it - it's not like I ever personally hike _far_ , given that I'm rehabbing from a nasty spinal (both column & cord) injury.
Because the Trekology's pad-strap has spoiled me for all other pillows & their tendency to "wander" in the night, I have rigged up a custom system for my Foamcore by taking a toddler pillowcase (which fits its wee dimensions perfectly) + a length of 1/2inch elastic, & sewing it in at either end. I cut to fit firmly around my thickest, 4inch pad, & when I am using my much-thinner UL pad I just gather the extra to one side + tie it off in a simple loop.
It adds like an ounce to my pack, & it makes all the difference to my quality of sleep.
*But I always put a tiny little 6inch square kapok/poly-wadding pad - that came as a "pillow"(ha) insert in the hood of an old, brandless sleeping bag - underneath it, just to give it that last extra .75 or so inch of height that my broad shoulders & long neck demand (I'm a side-sleeper). Funnily enough, it's actually comfier with that pad _underneath_ than on top, which may sound counterintuitive to some, but I really do find that that little valley in the centre of the Trekology just cradles my head so nicely.

Sigh. The pillow challenge! First off, I would not care if a MyPillow was stupendous; I cannot support that traitorous fraud, Mike Lindell. Second: I have 5 pillows and might still be searching. The Thermarest compressible is like your pillow-that-won’t-be-named, with bits of memory foam in it. It is too flat for this side sleeper. The Nemo fillo is good, especially if you modify with additional memory foam to mitigate that ballon syndrome, but it now weighs 10.35oz, Yikes. I currently use a S2S Aeros down covered pillow WITH (inside) a Goosefeet Gear medium sized down pillow. Very nice combo and 6.35oz. Not UL but I don’t care. :)
