What really makes convoy a winner is the fact that you can easily tear it appart and parts are also being sold. I always wanted a quad light but refreined on buying any quads because it's difficult to modify and parts are hard to find. Good thing that convoy finally did a quad EDC. Lol

Great review! My favourite emitter is still the E21a 4500k. You should try the Convoy m21f with the Gt fc40 4000k emitter, it has a nice beam, suitable for outdoor use.
i already ordered an S11 with gtfc40 5000-5500k, and now i see this, very tempting, you could practically use these high cri flashlights as portable video lights.
I bought the S21B as well but sadly it was with a smooth reflector. It seems that 519a begs for a wide TIR or orange peel reflector. Took it out at ~19 deg Celsius and at 100% it got hot AF. Imagine this emitter in the smaller S2+. Definitely wouldn't wanna be using it at 5-6 amps.

S12 should throw further, get less hot, but the S21D should have a much smoother beam due to TIR lens. Usage case would be general everyday. Thanks for any insight!

Sorry to use this review but would love if you could make a review of the new Sofirn C8L and perhaps compare it with other throwers like if22a, Wurkkos TS30S, or even with a if25a since even though it's a flooder it still can throw quite well(I have one if25a already). I only found one reviewer that did some testing but I think you could do a better job😉 I'm planning to buy a versatile thrower and I'm trying to find some comparison between the Wurkkos TS30S and this Sofirn C8L. (I know they have different lumens but for what I saw the C8L does a similar job as the Urkkos just want to check how much of a difference in brightness side by side at a long distance 200m+) Thank you!

How would this be for dog walking? How fast does it get hot on the middle modes? I know you said high gets hot pretty quickly but what about the other levels?
Just got in the Convoy S21d with 519a at 4500k. Form factor is nice and led is nice....but if I had to do it over again it may be with the 30 degree beam spread.....as 60 is too wide. This flashlight gets hot fast so prefer the cree leds at 5000k to this one for general use.
@@hardhittaa Actually approaching 6-6.5 k is white/blue. And tints vary. I own Osram P9 flashlights and they are white/blue and very efficient. Best one I own is the Wuben E10.....very useful for everyday use. This convoy 21d is similar to my Wuben TO46R but again perfer the Wuben and uses the nichia 219 led around 4500k.

After the initial setup where you choose your group mode, the UI is extremely simple. You just half click to cycle through modes. I have 10 convoy’s, and I still find getting into group selection mode kind of a pain though.
@@DinnerForkTongue the set up isn’t that bad. I find that I have a tendency to accidentally full click when I’m rapidly half-clicking, or I’ll see that the lights out and stop clicking only to find that I’m in battery check mode instead of setup. Nothing that’s preventing me from completing setup, but it’s irritating when I have to make several attempts for these reasons. By comparison, even though Anduril 2 is more complex, I find it much easier to work with.
Not a UI Simon (convoy owner) has tried before. He designs his own drivers and lots of people prefer simple UIs but hopefully he'll give it try in the future.

I've bought two already an s2+ and a t3. You really can't beat them at that price point. And the build quality is still great.

We need high CRI led bulb reviews
I tried a 3000k 219b and didn't appreciate how much of a difference high (98) CRI makes. It looks substantially different to Cree 3000k.

For stabilization,long usage on high mode; get C8L, for instant lumen burst,anduril, compactness, get TS21.

i have a s2+ 519a 4500k 5amp, 10% mode for walking is ok, 35% would be enough. or you can choose mode with 50% as max.
