The accent drop to represent speaking a native language was genius by Liam.
    Tracking down how it started
Liam would tell matt "Im having this conversation in zemnian"
Matt would then drop his accent as well
This went on to Liam with out telling mat dropping the accent and mat knowing automatically whats happening to then again drop his
    Liam has started something great
I hope they keep in for the future

Is it really? If you watch the show, whenever there's a creature who speaks a language such as Abyssal or Draconic, Matt always starts out with whatever it will be fliunetly, but then within a few phrases migrates to natural English. That's all Liam does, and I do believe this wasn't the first time he did it either.
This kind of thing is done in theater and movies all the time. It was done in The Hunt for Red October with the Russian submarine crew, where they started out speaking Russian to denote they were Russians, and then within a few phrases migrated to English for the viewing audience.

Matt was caught off guard since he probably practised how that conversation was going to go down beforehand, but WITH an accent. So to now not do it, oh MAN it was good.
And IN character, to hear Jester speak Zemnian to him, thus allowing Laura to drop the accent, must have made Caleb feel like he was speaking to Astrid once again, which he hadn't done in years.

As a native English speaker with a rather "standard" American accent...I can't really tell either. I mean, they are speaking with a little more emphasis on the words than normal and so it sounds a little forced and stilted but I'm not sure I would really notice it as strange in a normal setting. Maybe if they gave a long monologue like that I would think something was a little off but that's probably it. I'd quickly dismiss it as just being how they talk. There are enough variations in American accents here for it to be plausible and sometimes even my "unaccented" american accent slides around.

To all the brits saying their "British Actors Trying to do an American accent" accents just sound like regular American accents: they do. Those are passable American accents. Whats funny is the tendency of non-American actors to suck all emotion and flavorful pacing out of their lines when doing American accents. The stilted monotone is usually a telltale sign that the actor is not actually American.

I don’t know what your native language is, but imagine a guest actor in a movie who does not speak your language natively or very often but IS fluent in it. Now imagine that the character they are playing is supposed to be a native speaker, but their pronunciation is slightly off from what a native speaker sounds like. That’s kinda what they’re talking about.
