Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any assistance you can offer me.
Hearing that Bob is coming back next session is fantastic but I hope you both continue to work together as a team. You are both excellent real world welding instructors that have work experience from out in the field and know how to pass it on in your videos. Thank you
I'm an auto mechanic, I glue old transmission magnet to old side mirror and use for welding top of exhaust pipe, just stick the mirror to the floor above the pipe. The mirrors are only good for a few uses, but they were free, so no big deal.
in the body shop world our MIG welder wire always got dusty. so we took a clothespin with a piece of a cotton t-shirt and clipped it on the wire inside to clean the wire before it went into the liner work like a charm.
@@GodslilRedneck23 another million-dollar thing I missed out on. lol, I tried this back in 1994 and 2011 we still used it thanks for the info. but I'm retired now
If you do repair welding, a mirror is essential. Take a mag base inspection mirror, and bolt the mirror and the base on the ends of some loc-line tubing. It'll allow you to stick the magnet to any steel object and flex the mirror around pipes and structural supports. Easily the most important tool in my weld bag.
Sweet gadgets are allways welcome Butt it's endless just when you think you got it here it comes back more 💰💰💰😨. All you guys have a great 🎄🎅 Christmas and Happy New year .
Dogs and wedges, screw style dogs to suck down the plate to any beam or HSS, brass, aluminum chunks of any kind are your friend for unavoidable bridging, dental picks for scribing or picking out slag. So many things! Lol
Smart thing to do is find a need for a tool that you need and nobody else makes it, make it, patent it, sell it. I’m 99% sure someone is going to jump on the 3rd arm doohickey.
Hey there an old clamp mod I used to have was to piece of angle iron of the material you work with. So stainless, ali, and carbon steel. You get a footed vice grip and attach the angles at the back side v to the feet. 20mm or 25 mm is big enough for anything up to 3 inch od.
Here's a hack for you. If I have a job in a vice and there isn't anywhere to prop I'll sometimes use a vice grip clamped to the vice then come off that with one or two more to get the prop I need. It works better if the vice you are using is a fabricated type not a cast one although you can clamp to the main screw. Cheers Mick
Can y’all make a burn bar please. I know bob kinda touched on his but I’d really appreciate a video on that. Material you need, how to weld it without distorting it to much. Would really appreciate it.
Take a magnetic switch ground and ad about 5 ft of welding lead and a Male quick connect, I use this to ground to large square tubing or plates that are attached to precast concrete were a standard ground clamp won't fit
@@Welddotcom Awesome, love all of ya but Bob was one of the main people I watched when I was at college learning to weld and helped get me through top of my class so I definitely been missing him recently.
So i havent welded for long and so far the only process i know is flux core for my job, but the one thing i was showed when i was taught to weld and have used every day since is i weld with a tig glove on my trigger hand and a standard leather welding glove on my support hand might seem pointless to some but for me helps me feel the trigger on the gun better especially when i have to weld in some pretty awkward positions
Alright all, saw the generators a HF yesterday. One has a 240v. Opinions? Better options for a budget? Seems cheaper than paying an electrician and then moving.
Markal stuff is usually great, but those big fat blue refillable crayons suck. The leads crumble and break, they DO cause porosity nomatter what the company says, they dont work well at all. Stick with the skinny blue welders pencil or the silver streak/ red writer wooden pencils, or better yet just use soapstone.
How does that separate lense work with the outlaw leather hood? I want to buy an outlaw leather hood but none of them are auto darkening. Do you have to buy the battery pack system to power up the lense ?
No, the battery is built in and is solar charged by the arc. There's a link in the description to the Amazon link. You just pop the passive lens out and slide the Auto Dark in.

Make your 'third hands' with a straight back and a sliding weight. Increase or decrease downward pressure with the weight.
