The lack of news on Digimon Story 6 and Digimon games overall is very concerning. I was hoping that after the success of Cyber Sleuth Bandai would be full steam ahead with high quality Digimon JRPGs and games… I don’t want them pump out games haphazardly, but it has been too long since Hackers Memory.
That's why we got re-releases of Cyber Sleuth to give enough money for Next Order, and afterwards, that's why we got Re releases and ports of Cyber Sleuth and Hackers Memory along with Digimon Survive, all of those were meant to give them enough time and money to make the next story game. Technically speaking, we've only been waiting about a year or 2 since Survive, so yeah. But yeah I understand where you're coming from and I hope with this next story game, along with the success of the TCG, newer V-Pets and the couple mangas they've put out lately, they'll be able to truly start doing well enough to make more games. In the meantime, if you're interested in more Digimon to help wait for the game to come out, then incase you don't know, there's a Really Good Digimon fangame called Digital Tamers Reborn, and it's sequel just came out the other day! Fair warning tho, it's similar to the V-Pets and DS games.
@@SonakaG You are right on Survive. I got it on release day and while I love the concept story-wise, I couldn’t get into it due to being a visual novel. I was hoping it be more like a MegaTen game (which I feel Digimon is a kindred “cousin” in a way), but alas. I did hear about the fangame, which I am happy people can enjoy! I am thinking of giving Next Order another shot since it’s on the Switch.
They need to remaster the first three digimon world games from the ps one alongside digimon rumble arena for ps 5 fans those were my entire childhood and I would like my kids to enjoy them as much as I did( I also would enjoy them too lol)

both digimon story cybersleuth and hackers memory are one of my favorite jrpgs ever and after playing cybersleuth i thought this couldn't get any better until they released hackers memory. I sincerely hope there will be another digimon story game similar to those sometime in the future. Preferably with a completely new story and MORE digimon (more possibilities to digivolve into) !! ;)
They need to put habo back on the steering wheel, they gave him the opportunity to fully fully prove himself with just one game where he was allowed to develop for the older crowd, and it single handedly outsold every other game they've made and was successful enough for gaming media over here to care enough to even cover it, AND Next Order, AND Survive. If they want to keep things going strong, they need to put him in charge again. While giving him the control needed to let him choose his team for sure.
Not releasing a Digimon Story game in the west is huge business mistake, considering how well CS sold here compared to Japan. I imagine the localization costs aren't that high.
Finally Digimon creators are going back to the Digimon Story storyline format after coming to their senses Next Order (open world like Digimon Masters but only limited to 2 Digimon at a time) and Survive (visual novel style) were both flops, unlike their predecessors Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and Hacker’s Memory which sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide
Right lol? How can such simple, clear potential be squandered? There are so many Digimon fans already lol, they just want stuff updated to modern standards, this should not be so difficult, literally solo developers could've done a better job, it's ridiculous. But this seems to be an overarching theme in Japan, somehow they get massively popular games that can't evolve in any way, the graphics and the format get stale, they keep milking a dead cow.

it might be a mix, or neither. digimon isn’t like pokémon where they stick to one thing and just add a gimmick and call it a new name. each game always has a whole new feel to it, but sometimes has some old aspects, but it’s never the main focus like pokémon.
there is the possibility that theyre only 1 year in production for a possible story game. digimon survive came out just last year and they said theyre working on one thing a couple of month before its release. could only regard this specific dev team but we should keep in mind that there may be another 3-5 years of waiting
I think the next time we hear news about the game it will be a trailer with a release date one month after the trailer. But I’m afraid it will be Japanese only, at least at start.
i hope they make a mini series like 9 or 6 episodes even that will keep my satisfied for a few months I’ll savor every episode btw I hope the game is lit
I’m finally playing cyber sleuth and it scratched my digimon itch after they shut down digimon masters on aeriagames, I wish there was a real true mmo rpg for digimon where I could just dive in capture and do digital digi destined things

Bandai hates any series outside of their biggest sellers like Tekken and Dragon Ball. I love Soulcaliber, but Bandai has this weird distaste with it pushing it aside for Tekken instead of having a balance of the two. With Digimon it’s the same. They created it, but seemed to discard it as it doesn’t make a lot of money like Tekken and similar big sellers. Back in the day when companies weren’t that big and the economy doing alright they could afford making many games even if some weren’t going to sell well as they managed their budget. Now that companies are bigger and want to make more money they’re not focusing on smaller games anymore and just their big cash cows to make more money. That’s what I believe. It really sucks. Say what you will about GameFreak and TPC but at least they care about Pokémon even if they’re rush incomplete messes. Though I do prefer things to be better. I love Digimon.

Odds are, theyve switched target systems completely. This means rebuilding the game from the basics. That is, if they haven't completely scrapped it and started over. BUT. Bandai-Namco Have worked a LOT recently with a company theyve had strong ties to in the past, one that has the best selling System available on the market, and A Successor to that system Waiting to be unveiled... a Successor system that is in need of Strong Launch Titles. A Smart company would Aim to have their game BE one of those Launch Titles, And rebuilding a game initially targeted for ps4 to run on that companys CURRENT systems wouldnt be difficult, let alone their Next one. I'm not a betting man, but if i was, id say the game is nearly complete, if not completely finished, and they're just Waiting to announce it as a launch title for that Particular System, likely as soon as its officially Unveiled... Because, lets face it, Nintendo Sells better than Sony or Microsoft... in fact, Sony is doing the worst its done since the launch of the ps3, and microsoft is in no better shape, Yet Nintendo is doing better than it has since the N64. Why release a game on failing systems when your old stand-by is Selling like hotcakes?
This makes wonder why the franchise stopped releasing things at decent rate post frontier and savers. I’m one of the few Xros fans and we didn’t get any of those games from that era. I’m currently trying to figure out what is Digimon/Bandai focus with the series. I don’t think it’s the games, anime, or vpets/vbracelets. Might be the Card Game (which I only have a mild interest in) and Web Stories (Which are mostly only in Japanese. … Maybe it time stop being lazy and learn Japanese.
i dont get why they dont set up digimon masters or something like it and make it playable on consoles like genshin impact! i would love that. can be a gacha game like genshin but make it somewhat easier to get your favorite digimon so you can make a small team. big open world with lots of quests and storyline. i liked digimon masters but i never had a computer that could keep up with it. it always crashed and it was extremely p2p.
I just hope it has the good battle system like cyber sleuth and hacker memory and not the crapy that one the story ganes had that was from the unplayable Digimon world 1 games

That's the main reason why Digimon falls behind in Pokémon shadow for so long since the early 2000s. Digimon franchise has been poorly received over the years while Pokémon grew its momentum to become a juggernaut success franchise by selling their merchandise to children (toys, videogames, trading cards, plushes, and Pokémon home video media) during my childhood years in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I know the Digimon anime was very successful to keep Digimon to stay alive over the years, but it's kind of sad that the franchise has not been popular enough around the world like Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh.
Bandai does not give a crap about Digimon at all.. This is proven by how shitty they handle the franchise... I really hope another company gets the rights because Bandai is worthless

Also look at the situation with the Vital Bracelet and Vital Bracelet Be.. They discontinued the app and it only lasted like max 1 year and a half... I could go on and on.
