If Samsonov gave a short push to counter the sidespin serve, Xu Xin (penholder) could have flicked and killed the pop-up ball. A very smart play. In fact, both players are returning serves/counters towards the opponent's body to avoid powerful loop drives in the second game. Very inapt/poor/terrible commentating. They are only telling what we see without dissecting the play. Shut off speaters now.
