It is difficult to put into perspective just how impressive this is. We are witnessing the genesis of a generational talent.
Maybe. Will have to see how he matches up against other types of wrestlers.
I like to call this era of wrestling "the four-timer era" because the very best are so much better than the second best. We could also see 4 four-timers crowned in THREE years. I bet there will be 10 four-timers in 10 years.
No doubt he’s good but he then lost to a guy from Chattanooga that wasn’t ranked in the top 20 I believe. Styles make matches.
You like watching guys wrestle in leotards? Sus lmao
@@_________________________nooO3and you live with your mom. Sus
That scramble at the end was insane by both of them. Great match. Love how when blaze won it seemed like just another match to him. Super poised
Actually he looked quite cocky as the match ended. The other guy however seemed graceful. Especially for a #1
@@kreigalm7381well I mean, who wouldn’t celebrate after beating the number 1 at your weight class and your unranked
@@kreigalm7381it wasn't gratuitous though, probably from being exhausted.
Never heard of blaze before but his defense is insane.
He won the u17 world championships
Isnt he Joey Blaze younger brother or something
I’ve heard of him. Not as much as Jax Forrest, Bo Basset, or Anthony Knox. Think this just goes to show how deep wrestling talent is in the US.

Wow, what a veteran performance from such a young kid. Ramos got lackadaisical for one moment and that’s when Blaze took it.
Ramos didn't have his head screwed on that day, and Blaze was ready for war.
Ramos looks heavier by 10 lbs ?
@@777Skeptic yeah, and he just lost again to Jakob Camacho
Great match. Congrats to Mr. Blaze. Flowrestling the audio is terrible maybe spend more money on equipment than salaries
How much did you pay to watch this via RUclips?

Doubt it was Flo equipment being used. Probably just local equipment and Flo has the streaming rights
What a tournament he’s having
Flowrestling's highest quality audio
It's the same audio as 15 years ago, it's incredible😂🤣
That flexibility on the splits was the edge
High school kids are getting so much better! It's crazy
Burnett trained. Best high school coach in the country. Congrats Marcus!
lol imagine thinking wrestling is real
The Sandersons would beg to differ.
@@chuckhancock4551lol why dont yu try fighting a trained wrestler and watch how fast yu get your neck broke
The carry was insane
Can you imagine the full rides he's being offered?? He's a ringer!!
Congrats to Blaze. However, there is a big difference in physical development in those few years of age gap. Ramos, the NCAA #1, should've had a huge chip on his shoulder going into this and for him to lose is embarrassing.
Not so much when you're talking 125lbs. Ramos will be that small forever. Blaze will grow. Blaze is a stronger human.
@OtisMoto I agree. I don't think Blaze will wrestle 125 in college. However, Ramos has 4 extra years of coaching, 4 extra years of drilling, 4 extra years of weight room, and the accolades of being an NCAA finalist. If anyone said he'd be bested by a high schooler 6 months ago, they'd be laughed at.
@@OtisMoto Ramos looked way, bigger and stronger.
the fact that he can beat spencer lee with a shot in the dark fluke and then lose to a highschooler shows that record doesnt always make up a wrestlers entire skill level. spencer lee might have lost that one match but his legacy led on alot longer than mr ramos here losing to a highschooler. congrats to blaze.
A high schooler who won a world title but your point still stands
@@jacksonwagener5626 yeah im not trying to discredit blaze whatsoever, im more discrediting ramos cause the skill gap between high school level and college level is supposed to be alot more vast than it seems in this match, even flo was surprised when ramos couldnt manage to handle high school level bottom game for more than 10 seconds.
Bro is hating on a guy because he beat Spencer lmao
@@supdawg198 no im hating cause he can beat spencer but looks like the average sophomore in highschool wrestler while wrestling a highschooler
Some “high schoolers” are special. How many college kids do you think Cael would beat back in the day? Probably all of them. Let’s see how Blaze does in the future. Clearly he’s damn good.
Pen state watching this match like ✍️
Wow. We all knew Blaze is really good but Forrest and Ramos? 😮 I dare you to say you predicted this. Not to take anything away from Blaze but he should’ve/could’ve/would’ve been hit with stalling twice had this been a full NCAA tournament. Giving a little stalling grace to the HS guys can’t happen at this level because it hurts the collegiate guy. 7-8 shots to 1 is a big difference but still that defense from Blaze was filthy. 🙏🏼
Agreed
Can’t hit him in OT cause that would’ve been bullshit, I see what you’re saying blaze made it look like he was busy when he really wasn’t doing anything. Smart wrestler
I think I agree with this take. Blaze did amazing, but the stalling was bit frustrating to watch without consequence. Awesome performance by both dudes.
Nah…he did what it took to win. No he did not shoot as much but he attacked and re attacked with head snaps, wrestled him like a true champion. Should not even be in the conversation as it’s a HS junior VS a college #1 ranked wrestler.
@@josephdimasso8650 Oh I agree with you 💯 percent. Blaze won that fair and square and like you said “did what it took to win”. It’s my opinion, however, that had it been a dual meet or NCAA’s he would’ve been hit with staling. I’m not a referee and am happy to be a fan. I think Blaze will win a couple Nattys and to put on Ramos like that was 🧈
hats off to flo for somehow managing to play commercials even though I have prime.
FloSports using equipment from the 1940s apparently.
The future is here. Younger and younger guys keep getting more and more dominant
INSANE
That guy is going to go undefeated in the NCAA
Blaze is gonna be a monster when he gets to the college level wow what a beast
He’s already the best wrestler at 126 in the country. Hs and college. Beat Jax Forrest with two take downs, and the best in college with 1. That’s crazy.
How is the mic on this so bad??
can yall fix the audio of the announcers mic? it's very harsh
Wow! Good job young Blaze
Ramos can either let this loss eat away at him, or he can start performing at his very best. Ohio has an extremely gifted wrestler in Marcus Blaze. Ramos' biggest issue is his unwillingness to attack. He lost to Pat Glory in the same fashion, and he defended himself for five minutes before giving Glory a takedown. I hate to say it, but he should transfer to Penn State because Cael knows how to get wrestlers to their full potential.
Flo have your guy pull his mic back a little...
well done young man
To everyone that says a “high schooler” shouldn’t be able to do this I have one question. He is a U17 world champion… so let me ask you this. Would any of you be surprised if Cael Sanderson did the same thing when he was 17? Obviously you wouldn’t. So let’s see how Blaze turns out in the future. 👍
Honestly it depends on the generation really because you didn't see this sort of thing too often a few decades ago even. But to your point that doesn't mean it didn't happen and I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Cael was capable of this in h.s.
Wow! Thrilling! And Blaze seems very equal to Ramos despite the age - and likely experience / training difference.
Wow! 🎉
This kid should get an automatic bid to Nationals!! Could win it😊
great wrestling the mics are terrible time for some new ones 😂
Insane
wow from beating Spencer lee to losing to a high schooler is crazy
Nice win. Ramos was was a bit lackadasical with his take downs. Had plenty of chances to finish one.
Do you have to be in high school or college to compete in these?
Has anything like this ever happened before???? I know another high schooler beat a d2 national champ earlier this year. This insane.
Yeah look at Aaron Pico. He also was called a phenom.
It's rare, but yes, phenom high schoolers have beaten NCAA All Americans in the past. I believe Dave Schultz did and Dustin Schlatter as well.
@OvertheHIL524 I wasn't aware of highschoolers beating D1 AAs before in folkstyle. I knew of some to defeat ranked d1 wrestlers, and lower division AAs. That's really cool.
Pretty sure Spencer Lee and Henry Cejudo were beating NCAA All Americans while in high school too. But Pico was beating Dan Hodge trophy winners.
kannon webster beat an osu AA in freestyle over this last summer. It isn't impossible just super rare. @@rrt5000
How tf did he defend that double? And that ankle pick was nuts
Did Blaze win this one or did Ramos lose this one?
blaze one. the kids an animal
Being only a junior, i think he will outgrow this weight class.
Wow!!
10:15 the moment he knew he ****** up
Let’s be honest Matt Ramos wouldn’t best Spencer lee again
I’ve wrestled and practiced with this kid
same, whooped me at btw lol
One offensive attempt by Blaze, won the match.
How in the hell does this even happen? The number one ranked guy in division 1 going down to a high school kid, U17 world champ or not, just simply should not happen. Kudos to Marcus and his coaching staff, but Jesus h christ.
the difference is minor at best. you're talking about a college kid ranked #1 vs a high school junior ranked #3. if they were both out of school and in the pros you'd be calling them basically the same age and weight
i dont know how this ended up in my feed but what does unrostered mean in this context? Is this not a school tournament?
Nice Wrestling!
Vision Quest!! 🤘
takes lee out just to 🌪️⚡️🍳
LETS GO BLAZE
Where is blaze going to wrestle in NCAA?
Damn Ramos took the L with stride but to be beat by a junior in HS. Hot damn.
Spencer Lee is watching this right now and smiling
Just like the movie Vision Quest.
Wow! Nice!
A hs junior
I hope the Iowa scouts were there
Serious clickbait on this video. Yeah he’s a high schooler who won worlds!
Blaze should have received at least 2 stalling calls. Terrible reffing.
We have a new #1!!😜😘
Perrysburg coaches are mentally insane but thats what makes blaze so good
Loved seeing Ramos lose. I am a big spencer lee fan. FMR
Looks like Ramos gassed starting in the 3rd period. big wake up call, he was too defensive, he went for it against Lee.
Staller. Not impressed. Thought Ramos should have been awarded the takedown as soon as they hit the mat and he stepped the leg.
Maybe it's me but Ramos didn't seem to be taking it seriously.
In HS and college, does anybody know how to shoot anymore?
Wow that's amazing!
A lot of people would have reacted poorly to that loss. Man kept his composure and dignity.
Good, freaking, God. How are these kids just getting better and better?
The internet

They watch a lot of how-to's in RUclips nowadays :)
I was just saying this about my hometowns football team. They used to suck in my day in the early 2000's and would always get beat by our rivals for the last 50 years but now they are undefeated and havent let our rivals have a chance.
Coaching, my son was a 3X state champion and coaches kids from grade school thru high school.
not to shabby of a day when you are a junior in high school and in back to back matches you take out both the #1 high school wrestler in the nation and #1 college wrestler in the nation in your weight
incredible sportsmanship. Ramos handled that like an og
his mom probably broke her glasses watching it😂

it seems like these high school kids keep getting better and better every year. Unreal
This reminds me when I was a junior in HS and wrestling at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek, MI. Zahid Valencia, was a 7th grader. tech'd me in the second period. I wrestled in college also a 2x state placer in OH. Zahid was just on another level. couldn't even be mad just impressed there were kids coming up that were exceptionally talented. Zahid was one of 5 NCAA champs I wrestled against in my career.
best kid i ever wrestled was greg jones in junior high, but i wasn't good. he toyed with me, but at least i didn't get pinned.
I wrestled in underground cage matches and I once went 25 minutes straight with 3x underworld champion Johnny “Globedestroyer” Edison! The referee had to call it when a nasty cut was opened up on my forehead and I lost most of my blood.
@@somenygaard?
@user-yn1sf9mq3z Greg Jones was Nasty!!!
Can’t wait to see blaze compete at the college level. Gonna be an interesting 4 years
What's even better is blazes brother wrestles at Purdue
Another reason why I dont think ramos will win ncaas this year
he’s an insanely good wrestler but i fee like the Spencer lee win was just because Spencer messed up not because Ramos got the better of him i don’t believe hes a true no.1 but i do think he can have a great season

This is like Cary Kolat level high school studliness
Good win for this young man.
So you’re telling me…that the dude who beat Spencer Lee…lost to a 10th grader?
11th grade
CRAZY 😳
I watched him live at the Ohio State Tournament when he was a FRESHMAN in Division 1. He majored a kid in the 1st place match. His brother Joey is a 3x champ too. These Ohio boys don’t mess around

Only at a child's weight class could a child beat a grown adult
Sure, would love to see video of you, presumably a grown adult at your presumably grown adult weight class vs #1 high school wrestler in the US, show everyone how a grown adult does it
This is why I love this sport!!! Anything can happen
Match ups. Best part about the sport
This is one of the craziest feats I have ever witnessed in sports
That last scramble was insane
It needs to be played in slow motion
Yeah flo this audio is god awful lol
Amazed at how poised these young guys are now, congrats my dude!!!
Sometimes I feel like if they would just open up more the match wouldn't end up like this. Ramos should have had a huge psychological edge being ranked #1 and his stroke of luck last season. Don't know who blaze is but he beat Jax Forrest the round before so he must be very good.
He's a u17 world champ
@@tyngouamo7067 yeah I did hear the commentator say that. That's not really the same thing though, different rule sets and scoring.
@@countcrotchula44yeah, blaze would have won sooner cuz he had a lot of exposure under freestyle rules with those chest wraps.
@@danstaifer2028 oh yeah at least 5 exposures he would have teched him in freestyle
If you’re a WORLD CHAMPION in any form of wrestling, you’re pretty damn good. It’s not like he’s doing MMA, it’s still wrestling. They’re similar enough to be dominant in both if you’re dominant in one. Obviously with a little practice. 😝
Ohio wrestling and football. God level. This is Joey Blaze’s brother
Ramos puts his head down when he shoots. It's not surprising Blaze's takedown defense was able to shine.
Dude spends the whole time talking about other matches
Ohio Wresting for ya
Ohio needs to step up our club game, the high school scene is great but Wisconsin and PA and even places like FL and GA are ascending cuz of amazing clubs which Ohio lacks
It's about specialization. Some of these young kids are going to start at 5 years old or younger and they are going to watch all these high level wrestling and combine that with coaches and a team around them and go to levels that seemed impossible.
Wow!! I remember wrestling at this just once, very difficult tournament. Great athletes at every level from highschool to Ddivisions 1,2&3, even the Junior colleges and club teams bring good talent here. Awesome match from these two!
The audio is Atrocious.
C'mon Flo, you guys got the money for better mics. Holy hell
