I can't believe some of the comments below.
This is one of the best Hozin's dances I've ever seen.
Hozin's? One of the best dances anyone would have danced I've ever seen.

Oh man :O I love this guy's style maaaaan.. He creates that anticipation to go crazy and then he smiles and then goes crazy :D he is really enjoying the beat himself coz he himself keeps himself anticipated to kill the beat coz that is his style.. Hit it hit it :3
I prefer hozin's style over hoan coz hoan is just hard pops with same move over and over again. Hozin plays with beat :3

I will never understand this beat kill culture. I come from a place where if you break away from the flow and direction your movement takes you it's not felt. I respect his skill and know he's really good, but it doesn't make me go wow.

I guess it's just different aesthetic standard bruh. There are those who love the beats and those who love the flow, and both are great coz they are both beautiful in their own ways :)

    • @Gearsturfs

unfortunately beat killing is valued in the battle scene, so much so that high level flow and building isn't appreciated.

You've probably never seen this guy get down in person. Hozin embodies the music. It's not that he's choosing to break the flow and "kill beats" the rhythm and dance continue while he is showing those beats through his movements. Comparatively, you probably would say that while all those layers the artist of the song put in there, a dancer who simply does the basic 1 - 2 beat is more with the flow and direction of the music, but to that I say, this is next level shit, and you should see this man's dance live before you call it part of a beat kill culture.
There's a reason this man has gained so much acclaim among the world, including the OGs, and that his dance has inspired so many. It's because its the next level.
      peace.

I'd like to see him in person. I do agree that everything changes when you see it in person. I've seen some ridiculous timing in the bay area, a lot of it was done by skipping beats and accentuating obscure beats while using space and patience to build up. What he does is impressive. I watch for logical transitions and smooth clean flow. My opinion on him is because of where I learned my values and views on dance, not because I objectively believe he's bad. I just don't get it. I come from a different mindset, that's it.

      Gearsturfs
Hozin smashed it. He followed the music, when the song went hard he went hard as well, but when the song shifted to a much more mellow section he didn't continue to go hard. If you pay attention to what the song is doing and his movements you'll see it. I think it's also a battling thing, because in a battle you only had like 1 minute to get what you need out before the round ends.
