I sold my Husky and bought the top and bottom HF 56 inch (first gen) over three years ago and absolutely love it. I actually bought the (deeper) side 7 drawer side cabinet when I had the Husky. About a year ago I bought the 5 drawer service cart but after using it a while it didn't fit my home hobbyists ways (I don't roll tool boxes around, I use the HF three shelf cart) so I gave it to my son and I replaced it with the 26 inch bottom cabinet. I like the 26 but I wish there were two deeper drawers instead of the three shallow top drawers. Hindsight being better vision i should've bought the 44 inch rather than the 26 inch but it's a plus for my son since he'll get the 26 when I get the 44 lol. Edit: I ordered and received the fabric tape after watching your tape clip so that's going to happen to all my HF boxes. Thanks

I've had the same box for about a year now as well and followed your instructions to put rivets in the slides and my box has held up great. Awesome box, awesome video. Thanks.

Im impressed. I may end up getting a box setup like yours. I’m needing volume with a small price tag in my new shop situation

After seeing this I had to buy my box in red too. I blacked out the handles but am curious, what did you use to black out the vertical trim??

I looked at these today and the metal on the box is plenty thick for a Tool box but the slides are real trash. Can you purchase better slides for the drawers?

    • @ifirefight1

I’ll let you know Jim.. I just noticed one of my slides is coming apart. I will be posting a new video on the problem and the fix for it in the very near future.

What’s the rating on the drawers? Like 100lbs, 200lbs, 300lbs? I’m having a hard time finding this info. On Harbor freight they say 4,400 lbs max but I want to know individually. Kind of like the dewalt.

I have probably 200k in snapon and tool truck tools. The biggest roll cart snapon makes. And a us general 55 bottom box. In the biggest drawer which is the top and bottom I'd say I probably have 150 easy in the top and about the same in the bottom. One thing I noticed about them is they slide even nicer the heavier they get.

I seem to remember 100 lbs per drawer for a single slide and 200 lbs for the bottom drawer that has 2 slides.. regardless, I’ve had zero issues with weight
