Freaking amazing set. Huge ups to rap monster for playing at such a high level. Props to Axe to ofc for great adaptation in the set and changing up his pacing so well
RapM reminds me of when I first saw Jmook's breakout at Genesis and when I first saw Ossify back in 2022. Their punishes seemed very fresh and unique yet completely honest just showing that they had figured out a lot that no one else had implemented at the highest stage yet. I really think this is just the beginning for RapM.
I love Axe so much and by the end of this match I was completely rooting for a Luigi I didn't know existed until now lol. This kid is fire and it makes me happy to know that's how the future of melee is looking!

Luigi down B can be mashed in the air to get vertical height as a kind of recovery move, but only if it's "charged". Using it in mid-air consumes the charge if it has one. To charge the move, it must be completed while on the ground. So, if he starts it mid-air and it finishes while he's on the ground, like when he comes down from angel platform, he'll have the move ready to use one time the next time he needs to recover to stage.

@@eddiebarton7217 Are you playing Melee? If you finish the move on the ground first, and then use it again in the air next time, mashing B should give you height. If you're playing Ultimate I heard they nerfed it to not give height at all.
I was thinking this is a really instructive set (and honestly matchup) to why Luigi is solidly mid, pikachu has every edgeguarding tool to make his recovery just completely exploitable and obv axe knows how to capitalize on it
there were two times in game 4 where he almost closed it out. the edgeguard at 14:50. that dair barely missed. he also almost got the upsmash after the big air dodge fall at 15:02. alternate timeline where rapm won was like pixels away

Also keep in mind if the move isn't "charged" it'll just do the spin attack hitbox and he'll drop like a rock even if he mashes the button, basically.
