This was a pretty overlooked movie. I remember the adults at the time in 2003 who grew up on the 1953 adaption were critical of this, for its somewhat sensual overtones and unexpected violence. Which is the same reasons us become a cult classic. Even as a preteen, I appreciated the films, more mature violence. And I believe it’s one of the more faithful, and probably as of now the best live action, adaption of Peter Pan. It was much more faithful to it’s material then the 2015 film…

How the tables have turned, 20 years ago parents thought the romance between a young 12 year old boy and girl and a simple kiss was too much for their children, nowadays if they aren't twerking and f*cking like pigs we're not sexually educating our new generations. Retrospectively this film was very sweet and innocent. It really made me feel as a child that I wanted love in my life.

Disney made their live action remake 20 years later after this one, but that one was horrible. This will always be the best adaptation. I mean, Robin Williams' Hook movie is a classic Peter Pan movie too that will never get old either. As well as the implication that he _let_ the crocodile eat him because Peter's taunting got to him. (Compare that with the book, where Peter kicks Hook into the crocodile's mouth, but Hook doesn't really mind because he thinks Peter lowered himself to his level by doing that.)

I would say that this Peter Pan film is my favorite live adaptation so far, although the derogatory comments that I have seen so far about the brand new Peter Pan that Disney is putting out has been very concerning, I’m hoping when the film comes out it will be a lot more bright and saturated in tone. But honestly there has been already so many Peter Pan adaptations that I was hoping that they would focus on a different fairytale and then come back to Peter Pan at a different time.

Wendy is the true hero. Her kiss made Peter happy which gave him the ability to fly again. He also knew that Wendy loved him along and always will.

One of the things i like the most about this movie is all the pirates appearance. They all have their own cool unique features and clothes. Unlike most pirate movies where all the background pirates have the same bandanas, shirts and eyepatches

I will always love and adore Robin Williams version of Peter Pan from when I was a kid, but Jeremy Sumpter's 2003 Peter Pan stole my 13yro heart and he still hasn't returned it. I remember getting to see PP at the movies straight after school. Watching Peter Pan as an adult literally melted my heart and just gave me all the damn feels ❤😂😢😮😊🤣😭💔🖤 and he's literally the same age as me in real life, but he's older than me by like 6-7months 🖤🖤🖤

I would say that this Peter Pan film is my favorite live adaptation so far, although the derogatory comments that I have seen so far about the brand new Peter Pan that Disney is putting out has been very concerning, I’m hoping when the film comes out it will be a lot more bright and saturated in tone. But honestly there has been already so many Peter Pan adaptations that I was hoping that they would focus on a different fairytale and then come back to Peter Pan at a different time.
