I'm betting if you used the mirror (or maybe bronzy) contact paper to cover the front of the legs, it would have looked less like cardboard for you. The finished product looks really good!

I mean cardboard is made from woodpulp anyway, right?! I LOVE using things that would otherwise be landfilled into beautiful, functional items!
I was thinking...you could even use that hollow at the bottom to display an art piece or flowers, etc
