Can you imagine what it would be like if Tom was a college professor? There would be mile long waiting lists for his classes, no one would ever skip, and no one would text during lectures because he is so riveting you wouldn't want to miss one word, one expression... But I'm glad he's not a professor because it means we all get to enjoy everything Tom does.
must disclaim this comment by announcing that i love him, and think he is a fine, nuanced, extremely gifted actor with dizzying dramatic range. every one of his films has been a pleasure to watch. but i do feel he can be a bit dim? or well, not dim, of course, but really really obvious. after glutting myself on a surfeit of his interviews i notice that all his observations-- while very enthusiastic and earnest and eloquent-- are just incredibly Lit 101 stuff, really basic. and i think, cambridge double first? really? like, okay, i see that he can faff convincingly so he probably got all As, which would explain it; but hey man, you aren't racing to a word count here, you can chill. and also he has this hilarious habit of either declaiming poetry, calling on the dictionary definition of words, or examining their latinate roots whenever he's stumped by a question, and then looking at the interviewer with this ridiculously smug, half grin tugging at his mouth, like he's waiting for a pat and a belly rub. seriously. he does it a LOT, it's practically his conversational ejector seat. it's totally adorable and i would absolutely rub his belly but i think we give the hiddles a smidge more credit than he deserves, intellectually. I THINK HE IS BERTIE WOOSTER BASICALLY, IF BERTIE WOOSTER WAS A REALLY ENTHUSIASTIC COMP LIT STUDENT.
It's so classy that he can recite poetry at a moments notice. You don't see that much anymore.

Loved all the questions about how he played Adam because to me that movie and his acting in it is a masterpiece.
I'm not fan of that movie, but his performance is true masterpiece. I don't know how he did this magical transformation.
i love him so much!
charming voice, nice looking, and lovely smile. who can so perfect likes you? Tom.
Great interview, and I hate to be a total simp, but those cheekbones are amazing!
Simping along with you
I hate how Jian keeps cutting off Tom's answers here.

I think you are over exaggerating that pat on the back smug but Tom would appreciate your sincerity and admire your intelligence.
