Question for ya josh , would you go with the vr50 or vr125 ? I’ll be primarily using it for salmon fishing the Great Lakes and the rivers when the salmon spawn . I use 12 lb mono almost exclusively . I’m leaning towards the vr50 but figured I’d better ask prior to purchasing . I use a 13 ft noodle rod / float rod usually to get a better lift . How much 12 lb mono would fit on the vr50 ?
So Josh overall are the VR's comparable to the vsx? or is it worth just getting a vsx witch i see are much lighter and tougher reel! anyway thanks for this review i'm on the fence with the VSR and the VSX
Uli tt I have a VR175 now and with the bailless kit on it, my vr175 is as large if not a tad bigger than my buddy's VS200. The VR's are longer and the VS's are bigger round imo.
Would this along with a Century Surf-machine 9ft be a good pair up for cape cod rocky beach fishing, I want somewhat of a light setup, with not too long of a rod, and do you think the vr150 would be a better option for that rod?
the most succesfull and practice model of all van staal reels
Still working for you at this time, sir? I’m about to get one
Cool.
Does it with right crank Josh

So all you have to do is rinse these reels with freshwater after using and they'll last and perform great forever?
Yes. And keep the roller and where the handle knob spins lubed.
Hello. It comes also with the bailess kit when purchased ?
Yes.
Can you please tell me if i can use this reel with the right hand because i'm a right hand user.
No you cannot.
Hi Josh... for the size of the vr125...is it comparable to a 5000 series shimano/penn?
Roughly. The body is going to be larger because all four sizes of the VR share the same body.
@@jandhtackle So do you offer different spooles so I can buy a VR 125 and later purchase a 150 or 175 spool?
I'm looking to get the VR Not sure what size to match up with my St. Croix 11 foot rod if anyone can help Find the perfect match up thanks

need a right handed model van Staal that is fully sealed in a 100 model. help please
and how do I modify my VM150 so it doesn't flip the bail when I cast every time
You reel with your right hand? If so, it doesn't exist. You would need a VS150, which we have.
I don't think that's possible.
+jandhtackle stil can't find a van Staal with the handle on the right that is fully sealed please link me one
We do not have it up on the site. Email me and I'll send you a pic and info. josh@jandh.com
Is this comparable in size to a VS150 or is it bigger?
It holds less line but has a larger body.
jandhtackle is it a lot bigger
