I admit it I did all year now. I find myself really liking how they're playing the game their having fun, good, starting pitching, and big hits at the most intense times. It looks like they have a bright future as well.. I was wrong.
Give our owner credit. He held onto our farm system and isnt afraid to admit bad roster spots. He let those two pitchers walk ,demoted Beatty and look at the results! Fans, we have Alvarez ,Alcuna, and Vientos all young and talented and when the kid Ronny Mauricio gets healthy..whew the future is bright!!
We’ve got a great GM now too. A local Mets fan from childhood. He’s always believed in protecting the farm system. The Mets are in good hands right now.
Yeah...so easy to write off a team in May or June.....just imagine if they hadn't made it...goes to show what can happen in October...the only thing certain was no October meant NOTHING. These last 2 series mean EVERYTHING, and who knows what can still be...
Fans are dumb...Lindor always starts slow. He has been their best player from day one and the man does it om offense and defense. He loves the game and has always been a great teammate from Day one!! MVP Lindor!
The Mets had the 2nd best record in MLB over the last 100 games of the regular season at 62-38 (one less win than the Padres). Over the same timeframe, the Phillies were 50-50.
But but…. The Philly fans are complaining that the days off they had is why they lost. It hurt them. They complaining that the wild card format hurts the division winners. And it needs to be changed. Anyway, yes… we need these few days off. We been non stop since the brewers series
@@dgitoutofmany1 Im a Phils fan and I wanted no part of the Mets. They have been great since winning the final game in London. But, it is a fact, not an excuse, that the bye teams have not done well the last few years. Should be a great series vs LA...I'll root for Subway Series now, good luck
It is true fans were very critical, including I! However, in his tenure with the mets this is the farthest we have gotten and its mainly because of Lindor’s performance, leadership, and impact. 1 💍 already. Which I totally forgot.
We as Mets fans don’t want Michael Kay talking about our team Stick to the Yankees. Cause if the yankee fan base is tired of him, we don’t want him either
I’m a Yankee fan I think Kay is the worst announcer in Baseball on the other hand the Met have the best both especially Cohen who is the best announcer in Baseball and yet he’s gotta stand on the sidelines and watch…..Insanity!!
I want the Dodgers in the NLCS, so after we dispose of them, we'd have beaten all three Division winners in the playoffs. I'd like to win the WS, but the NL pennant with that kind of resume proves we're the best team in the League.
I do like the way Francisco Lindor acts, when he is going around the bases. It reminds me of Mikey Mantle and his simple way of hitting and running. #LGM
I have to disagree with Don. Game 4 felt like Game 1 insofar as Phillies had a starter who wouldn’t allow runs. But if the Mets could drive up the pitch count and knock the starter out, the team was going to make it happen. The grand slam was fairy tale, cinematic, miraculous but at the same time, with Ranger out, it was possible. If the Mets can’t score on your starter, they will work the count and drive them out.
The Mets were the best team in baseball for the last 100 games. There is something to be said for that. There were no 100 game winners in MLB this season so every team has uncertainty. They overcame the challenging schedule to finish the season are playing with house money.... They are dangerous.
Philly fans are saying they lost to a much less talented team. They signed Tijaun Walker from our rotation and they didn't use him because he wasn't good for them Also, our bench is ridiculously good. They are star players on a lot of teams.
these Mets remind me of the D backs from a season ago coming out of nowhere to win it all propelled by Lindor. his leadership is valuable you can't put a price on what he's done in that clubhouse as a leader and his play has been good. it could be better but i agree with Don the Mets don't get here without Lindor contributions on and off the field. idk how you can't be impressed with what they have done and i'm a Yankees fan saying this without any ego the Mets are for real.
About 80 million on the books of players that are no longer here plus their ace, Senga missed all season. They probably spent over 100 million on players who didn't play an inning this season for the Mets.
The post season has nothing with the regular season MVP vote. I'm a die hard Mets fan and what Ohtani did was amazing. By the way it's Ohtani not "the Japanese. Jeesh.
Ohtani's season is unimpeachable, and I wont cry if he wins it. BUT: 1. He doesn't play and has zero impact on an entire half the game. 2. Dodgers are here with or without him. The Mets are not here W/O Lindor.
These two guys kept saying “This team is actually pretty good”… Neither of them bring up the fact that they had the best record in all of baseball in the second half. Pretty much all ya have to say to get that point across.
There is a Mets Lore narrative here that i think has escaped the notice of even the most erudite followers of Mets nation. It has either gone unnoticed or unmentioned, but now might be a good time to shine a flashlight on it. Who will be the first to find a year where the mets didn't spend the entirety of the campaign with one or more of their *top three players* out all year? Is this typical of all teams? Surely it can't be? Let us begin. 2024 Kodai Senga Was slotted as the Ace 2023 Edwin Diaz Was coming off a historic season for a reliever 2022 Jacob DeGrom Started the season drawing comparisons to all time greats in the game 2021 J. Cespedes doing his best Robert Baratheon. These aren't injuries to just anyone these were supposed to be HIM of the year...guys. I'm drawing a blank on 2020 (The one that doesn't count) but not on many other years, It happens so often I'm thinking perhaps this observation slipped under the radar because we have been conditioned to accept the notion that every year, The Mets must complete the campaign without one of our most important players.
The mets are simply a cinderella team riding that mojo all the way just like the rangers last year and the phillies the year before that. Teams get hot at the right time and just ride that wave
@@WillisBillis-u5i hence the term “cinderella team” im not speaking a foreign language am I? 😂 so they better take advantage of the mojo they have and ride it to the World Series like the Texas rangers did last year or else they will be set back in terms of their championship aspirations ie The Phillies whose window is starting to get smaller
The salary cap is primarily due to guys that they moved - but also got top prospects back in return (Acuna being one of them). The poor record was a product of a bad May, one of the toughest early schedules in baseball, but also because of injuries (Smith, Raley, Senga, Baty, Diaz, Reid-Foley, later Scott). They brought up Vientos, Iglesias, Megil, Butto, Nunez to name a few. Got back Alvarez who is big for the staff and with the bat. Traded for Winker, Maton, Blackburn, Stanek. It all came together towards the end of the season because pitching was great, Lindor hit his stride, and they played the soft portion of their schedule until facing the Brewers and Braves.
Met lineup is deep.....so is their bench. They have better guys on the bench than some teams have in their lineup
Like the Royals who only have three guys that can hit. The rest are fringe MLB players at best.
Very true. We went from Vogelbach who i didnt wanna mention to JD, Winker, & Vientos.
Gotta give Michael Kay credit - not a lot of guys admit to underestimating teams.
As a Mets fan it took me a long time to come around to Kay. But he's very good and very fair, imo
