My first pom had such separation anxiety her first year, she had an ulcer for 10 months, which turned to a bleeding ulcer. I took her with me on vacation when she was about 7 months. My fam went out to dinner and when I got back to the hotel, she was literally catatonic for about 10 hours! I kept her on my chest all night, reassuring her. I was so scared, but finally she relaxed and recovered fully! When she was 5, I had to leave her with my mother, who Midnight liked. I was staying with my nephew who was in the hospital hours from home. Then my father was hospitalized and mom was with him for 5 days. She asked a neighbor to visit mt baby 5-6 times a day. When I finally got home, she was very listless and 10 hours later she passed away on my chest. Its been 12 years and I still mourn her. My current pom is 12 and in heart failure. I will he heartbroken, but will joyfully adopt my 3rd pom. No other dog for me.
Oh your babies! Pomeranians are known for separation anxiety. My Murphy panics when I leave but, not nearly whay your little bugger experienced. I hope your current pom can improve and live a longer and happy life. I am with you. It's devastating to lose a Pom but, I already told my husband I will always have Poms and that when I'm old my kids will need to know that they will have to take my Poms when I am no longer here.
My pom Aubry was profoundly sweet - gentle - loved kids - loved everyone , never left my side - consistent - adoring , an ultimate loveable teddy bear , she was not a yapper , she was patient and attentive, in the moment & loved attention ! She knew she was beautiful ! I had no TEEN phase ! I just had an absolute wondrous dog ! Aubry had a collapsing trachea and sadly passed with it at 10 years old . March 3 rd 2024 - rip my beautiful caring beautiful friend . Im lost without you ❤
I keep saying 'oops' while watching. I guess I haven't appreciated my Pom being laid back about so much because when he sees another dog he starts BARKING which makes me annoyed because my last dog never did that. I got my Pom when he was 4.5 yrs with NO training. so it's been a real challenge. good to hear stuff you said and realize that my Pom is actually very forgiving.
Poms think they are big dogs and are super protective. Mine want to bark at every dog they can. Some of mine are better behaved than others. They are all smart dogs though. A 4.5 year old Pom without training would be very set in their ways but, since they are so smart anything is possible. Especially if you Pom is food motivated.
My groomer (not any more) shaved my dog so close that she damaged his fur in 4 different places and it's 4 months later and not growing back right. To say I'm angry is an understatement.
Oh my, that is so disappointing to hear. Hopefully with time your Poms fur will grow back more. I get nervous bringing mine in and repeat myself like a lunatic over and over, just to make sure we are on the same page. I would be so upset too.
Mine runs to us when she hears her clothing drawer open. Always ask her to sit if she wants to wear her “pretties”. She prances around the house once she gets her outfits on it’s cute.

My Pom loves dressing up and going out with me… Halloween is his favorite because he got all the attention of being part of it…😊

Awe! Willow is now three or four. I lose track. Lol. So cute! At a year old she must be growing into her beautiful adult coat.

The main thing that Pomeranians hate that humans do... is breathe. FACT
We are here to serve them! In return we get lots of love and joy!
