Fantastic!! I first heard this concert on tv(UK) in 1978 when I was a boy. Today 46 years on and I'm still blown away by it. Such skill and passion woven in to that awesome performance.
I started playing Guitar in 1986 (Australia ), a few months later I saw an add in the news paper for a concert with John and Julian, I regret to this day that I didn't go to that concert.
Yes but I don't think they would have played together for much longer after this. A few years later I did see John perform a Steve Gray Guitar Concierto with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra at the Melbourne Concert Hall so that was consolation for missing out on them playing together.
Bitter sweet after the death of Julian Bream! Julian and John play so well together and Sor was a wonderful composer for the guitar, his pieces fit so well to the instrument.
It was my great privilege to hear Julian Bream in an ancient and cold English Church in Suffolk, England in 1965. I couldn't understand how he could make his fingers do what he was doing. I couldn't even feel my toes! Ah those Brits...
Been listening and following these gentleman all of my life. Julian was one of my inspirations and of course there is no denying John Williams. Julian RIP. John I look forward to more years.
How I regret not having been able to attend a concert of theirs. I would have loved to experience their joy in the music live. Well, we have it now. Watching Julian live into his music is a thrill every time. They were so different and yet they complimented one another completely. It was magic! And of course, Fernando Sor's music. A composer for the guitar (and everything else) extraordinaire. His love for and his understand of, the workings and capabilities of the instrument, are astounding. Two guitars, and you have a complete miniature orchestra, and he knew it. Fabulous music!
Good Lord, one wouldn't be the better of that!, I've been lucky enough to have seen both of them separately live, John on many occasions and Julian twice but not as a duo. Absolutely wonderful, Many thanks. Gérard lacey in Ireland. X.
I like the clear way of Julian Bream"s right hand technique, very similar to that one Segovia, where you clearly distinguish free stroke (ONLY FOR ARPEGIOS and to simultaneus stroke of following strings) from rest/apoyando strokes (for SCALES, HIGHLIGHTED NOTES, AND SIMULTANEUS STROKE OF NOT FOLLOWING STRINGS), V. Segóvia.

Hervoragende Interprätation der zwei Gitarristen und vorallem mit tollen Klangfarben gespielt
Julian's tone!!!! Sublime

Wow, they toured together that late? Would have loved to hear them too !

You can feel their happiness from playing together.

When did Julian Bream pass away?
The sheer endurance of that piece is confounding. I don't know how their hands didn't fall off from fatigue. Absolutely impeccable performance!
Hello there just wanted to say that I watch this eveyday thanks for the upload! Wish I could meet you great people!
Julian and Williams , Evangelos and Liza , by far the best duos in the world .
I think we can safely say, "they nailed it"
5:38, 10:05 and 10:45 Man, I´m in love with those 3 beautiful moments, simply incredible
Incredible, how they communicate through the piece. Thanks.
This is very exciting
Amo
Bream covers all the emotions from A to Z. Williams surpasses at A to C.
The best !
Only one thing is better then to listen to a guitar. That is to listen to two guitars. I believe Beethoven said that. 😀😁
" Nothing quite as beautiful as a guitar, except perhaps two guitars"
Chopin
@@salciaburri2759 Well said indeed! Cheers for Chopin!!
Beethoven said "The Guitar is a miniature orchestra in itself". He said this after hearing Giuliani play.
Awesome...spechless!
Bravo!!! What joy ♥

Precioso
Magia!
Bravo !
Good heavens, Barry Dennen is in the audience min. 11:30
넘조아 ㅎㅎㅎ
ブリームは?聞けませんでしたが?J.ウイリアムズは聴きましたねー!(笑)😆
Duo Abreu is great also.
Their duet playing is like 1+1 = 3
I heard the piece played smoother but never with so much colour and tone.
When did Julian Bream pass away?
Sad.

Everybody is saying how good they were but could they have played "Smoke on the Water"? :)
Sor wasn’t Spanish. He was a Catalan who became French.
Catalán and not Spanish? Imposible.
Nació en Barcelona. Es catalán, por lo tanto español.
