How to fix no spark on my motorcycle

This a a great, short and sweet video that explains the basics of checking for and resolving not getting a spark on your motorcycle. We’re specifically looking at a 1987 cmx250c Honda Rebel, however these principales can be applied to most any motorcycle. The cause of my bike not sparking was the ignition switch. Had to take it apart and clean the contacts to get the bike running again. Remember to check your pickup coil also.

What is happening if I switch the ignition on & it starts sparking without me even cranking. Just a steady rhythm of sparking & it's not starting as I'm guessing it's not sparking at the right time when I'm cranking

I turned my bike off with the kill switch and didn’t turn of the egnithion, and it started straight away, but when i turned the bike off with the key it woldn’t start again, it starts when i run start it. So i don’t understand, why it is spark when i first Get it started and the egnithion is always on but not if i turn it off and on straight away???
