If only 1 v-mount battery is required to power the Sumo 19... The 2nd battery would be for redundancy or hot-swapping? I noticed the power cable on the Core SWX plate is fixed. The SHAPE plate has a removable D-Tap cable... Any reason you went with the Core SWX plate? Great video btw!
Thanks! I had previously used the Core plate and had a good experience with it so that's why I went with that one. Correct, the second plate is for hot swapping, which has come in handy many times in the past!
So we didn’t get to see you pull up any camera s or content on the display. There are some Amazon reviews that complain of a very orange/tungsten color tone to the SE that doesn’t match the previous Sumo 19’s and apparently cannot be fixed? (Or so that’s what they say anyway)
@@jhnyhmnd Thanks for the followup! I actually broke down and ordered one weeks ago. So far, I have not seen any issues with the one I have received either. Been pretty happy with it. Perhaps that individual on Amazon received a bad unit which can/does happen. Anyway, thanks again!
Hey Thanks for the video, wondering if you could answer 2 questions, 1 - I've noticed on a demo video their is a visual lag, so could you use it as a camera monitor for say something with fast action, aka basketball? 2 - with the sun hood, does it fully cover the screen with one panel when put away, aka no edges sitting on the screen that could rub on it? Thanks heaps
Hello guys, nice, unboxing! I heard that the original Sumo is very loud and noisy, so that makes it hard to use on shoots where you are recording audio. How is this one? Is it quieter?
Very helpful video! Answered a few questions I had about what was included with the monitor. Would love to see a video on how it performs on set and also if it is appropriate for an editing suite 👍
Hi, nice first impresions. I wonder about liveswitch REMOTE control. There is new connection for this and i can't find more information. Do you have any update on this? Thx a lot. Jan
For your knowledge... Been in contact with Atomos support as it was impossible to connect the monitor to Calibration software. They was sure my USB to Serial cable was faulty so i ordered a new one arriving in a couple of days. Today I got a new message from them: "Kindly accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Our apologies here, Our crew found out that the current calibration software will not support the Sumo 19 SE. A new release should be available fairly soon for your Sumo 19 SE. We sincerely apologize again for any inconvenience. We highly appreciate your patience and cooperation."
Tends to cool off after warming up. Win calibration 2.1.8 made mine really good with a minor red cast compared to my Eizo:s. Mine was very warm to but much better now. Haven't tried Mac cal yet.
Definitely helped me out! Thank you for making this!!
Glad this video helped!
I want to connect my ps4 to this, but it says that there is no input. It says “can not lock to 24p wave hand to enable pull-down. How do I fix this?
thanks for your video. no color issue? some reivews said it's too warm color
We have not had any issues with color temperature
Thx! Looking forward to display comparison...

@@sapphiresky83 Overall we've been very happy with it! I'll be making a follow up video soon showing the usage on set and how it performs.

I haven't noticed any type of visual lag. The sun hood folds onto the screen to fully cover it yes.

Hard to tell so far, but I would say it's usable in an audio environment, as long as it's not right next to the mic.

Good to hear! That second video will be coming soon 👍
Hello, nice Video! The links to the accessories- don´t work. Please, can you update...
Just updated the links!
I'm aware that you can use the Sumo 19 as a quad switcher/recorder but are you able to use the quad-view for just monitoring?
Yes you are!
You mentioned you would share links to the accessories- can’t see them.
Just updated it!

I do not have any info on that unfortunately

@@jhnyhmnd They say it has high priority. From factory mine its a bit warm and a tiny cast of green
This helped out a lot!!! thank you
Glad we could help you out!
Did you manage to calibrate it with Atomos Calibrator 2 ? Mine isn't detected with Atomos serial cable.....Mac
We haven't done it yet, we're also going to be doing it on Mac though so I'll let you know how it goes.
Good, I've made a support ticket and let you know if its a firmware thing...
Beta version of calibration software available today. Win only. Worked pretty good and corrected my monitor.
@@jerrygladhab5077 hello, do you have this warm cast all over? I was comparing it with Flandes and Sumo SE it's much warmer
