does Yamaha not think that their bike is just too bad to put a rookie onto it? Would you want to spend your year's trial as a rookie on a bike you are not only never going to win on, but will barely score points on? Miller is a known quantity that will give feedback, a rookie that has never ridden a MotoGP bike will not be able to give feedback in the same way. Zarco chose to stay in Moto2 for a second season as being in his best interests, did Garcia look at his options and decide that was the best decision for him too?
It is not a given that rookie won't be able to communicate effectively on what the bike is doing. Motogp in the past has had rookies who have done so. If you believe the comments, some of the current crop of experienced riders can't do so effectively.
@@Redmongoose-rdm I don't disagree with your comment about comunication skills. I was thinking more about learning to ride a motogp bike for the first time on a bad bike not being good for either the rookie nor the development of the bike into a good bike
The whole idea of there needing to be a spread of nationalities at the top level seems very strange to us - part of the draw of the sport is the opportunity to support riders from other countries. Certainly if the rider from your country is competitive then its all well and good but not great if you know they are just going to be a back marker. Limiting opportunities for someone like Sergio is just disappointing.
Great to see a Dedicated MotoGP Channel! Here are few things I don't agree with in this video. 1. Aleix needs to chill out, He hasn't always been the fastest rider his whole career, If age has caught up to him now, Doesn't mean all other Slow Riders should Give up their seats! 2. Why would Yamaha Want a Rookie? Even in a One in a Million Scenario if he turns out to be Next Marc or Rossi, He ain't winning a single race with this Bike in Next Year or 2, So a) He Can't improve Yamaha's Championship Position and b) He is not going to contribute anything to Development. So yeah it would be Non Sense to Put a Rookie there, Jack is obviously a better Choice. Yamaha's Main Priority isn't winning a Race or Podium, Its Getting their bike Better, For which they need Experienced Riders for Development.
Jack miller has been in the top 5-10 all year and needs more credit with a new manufacturer than what he’s getting let’s give him more confidence and I’m sure he will perform more betterer
I think credit where credit is due, Miller is able to give meaningful feedback, and development advancements, as KTM has openly acknowledged he has brought. Yamaha, like Honda, World Champ on each team, yet the results aren’t there. Clearly both need development riders, Marini, Zarco and Nakagami at Honda, Yamaha has Rins. The manufacturers have always stated having more bikes on the grid accelerates the development. Miller and Oliveira will bring what they need. Garcia, waiting another year for a competitive bike is smarter than spending a year on a poor performing bike. Many top riders have spent longer in the intermediate class, Jorge Lorenzo did, won in 2006&2007 in the 250cc class. Graduate to a race/championship winning Yamaha M1. I think in balance, it is better for Garcia to perform at his best, and command a competitive ride. This might have been the true reason Miller is ear marked for Pramac.
😂 BS. Miller is a race winner. Have we forgotten? Have we forgotten Miller's potential and past achievements. People are acting like Jack and Franco have never won races. That's more than we can say about the hot new moto 2 talent on the GP grid. Pramac needs proven race winners to develop the bike back to winning ways. I dont think having a rookie is something they want to be developing alongside the bike. And yeah, of we are gonna focus on what guys have achieved or not achieved this year and last, then we should look at half the grid. Many former champions are on the GP grid and haven't won anything the past two years. Some haven't seen the top 10. So take that negative chat about Morbidelli and Miller and shove it!!!
So Fernandez zarco morbidelli get a free pass what has Marquez jnr done - but year it’s only jack that needs to make way for a rookie - careful your bias is showing
If a sport wants to pitch itself as the 'fastest riders in the world', I personally don't mind when efforts are made to represent said world. For me its one of the great draws of global motorsport, and I love seeing a diversity of different nations represented and hosting races. But it is an uncomfortable shame when next-gen riders are ready and waiting, but there's not enough room at the top level. It should be the elite riders, but that should encompass all different levels of experience who want to fight for the top spot, including a semi-regular injection of rookies bringing new blood.
I understand the frustration with Miller. The dude sometimes acts as if he is on the same level as Stoner or Doohan. But at best he is ok. On the other hand I understand why Miller wouldn't just step aside for some nobody. He loves this and it's his life.
Thanks guys! I think Miller is more valuable as a dev rider, than a rider expected to win races. I love new blood, but Yamaha needs experience to guide them. So, for me, either Olivera or Miller, plus a rookie on the Pramac. Gutted at Trackhouses decision. I cannot wait until Japan gets it together and brings some bikes to grid. Hopefully KTM and Aprilia keeps advancing.
It's also important to note that MotoGp is a world series.. Often the top guy in moto 2 is spanish and you can't keep bringing spanish riders into GP. I think Dorna have to step in or no one will want to watch a Spanish/Italian GP. I know the spanish and Italians are the best in the world at motorbike racing but I think its far more exciting having racers from all around the world. I am Australian so bias will always towards our boy Jack, I hope he can surprise everyone prove us wrong and battle up front for positions on the Yamaha.
I'm so glad that you guys are all over this as I think this is not good for our sport. I'm also fed up with the poor commentary from @tntsports. They overlook Acosta's fantastic performances as a rookie, but constantly are cheerleaders for Miller. Today Acosta finished 16seconds behind MM. Miller was 40 behind!
There's no doubt that Garcia's talent can secure him a seat in Motogp but I think it's a wise decision to stay in Moto2 next season not just for him but for Pramac as well. It's more of a strategy play being that the new GP bike specs are now 2 seasons away. Despite satellite teams being a great place for rookies to begin their premier class careers, this might not be the case with Pramac as the current tech window narrows down. There's a heap of data and experience from current GP riders that Yamaha can benefit from in this last stretch of aero/tech era that will be worth more to the factory in my opinion. As for Garcia, I'm sure his manager is looking for a 2 year deal at minimum and it's possible that there may not be one available at this time. It's more favorable to have one season on the current era bike and another on the new era bike for a 2 year deal, which at that time we could see more current GP riders stepping away from the sport opening up more seats and probability for rookies to stay in the premier class. Only odd man out is Miller, he's not had the best performances as of lately but I think his saving grace is this final window or regulations to at least secure him a one year deal as Pramac will have it's adjustment period next season and need riders who have experience with the aero/tech of current machines.
The Race Motogp, will you talk to us here on posts..or just "like" and stuf like that? the way i see it, or what i want from you, is more interaction from you with us. no politics etc. just motogp fanatics💪
Millers biggest value is in developing a bike. There are not many or any on the grid, nor potential signing who could better his input in this regard. On the other hand, it's not going to develop a rookies career path well to start out with a ride such as the position that Yamaha is in right now.
Very unfortunate to put Miller on the Yamaha.... I don't think he's going to being much of anything to the Yamaha development. I absolutely agree with your take...
I want to see Yamaha competitive and I enjoy Miller on the grid. Still I think this decision is not good. Yamaha needs full race data, not half of a race and then observing tire drop off lap times.
What a joke, Simon your dislike for Jack Miller is painfully obvious, only talented riders get to ride motogp machine whether they are first or last, they are the best of the best, maybe it’s you who needs to be let go.
it would be great to have english subtitles for non-mother tongue viewers like me (I don't mean the automatic ones created by RUclips) as i'm italian 🎉🎉
Pramac simply won't be with Yamaha what they were with Ducati. The money is there but the talent won't be. Not choosing rookies was only adding salt to the wound.
It does feel unfair that guys that are fumbling the championship like Aldeguer or that are really far from contending like Chamtra are getting seats but Garcia who is being quality in only his 2nd season is not.
I mean Jack Miller hasn't been that bad. I think that ktm just isnt it this year for him. Im fine with him getting another season. Frankie tho i dont feel the same, yeah i get he didnt have a preseason but we've seen how superior the bike he's on yet hes always back in the pack. I mean i get he missed preseason but we need to see something. We saw that one race where he looked good and since then nothing. And then theres riders like raul Fernandez and luca marini out there looking awful. I really feel like miller is tsking a lot of shit here that should be shared around. I think its fair for them to look back at his 2022 and say lets give him a go if were going to do the same for franco or olivera that is. But at the same time were still getting what 3 riders up mext year? Thats more than norml so we cant be too greedy. Also lets hoper bmw come in 26 with 4 more bikes on the grid
A rookie isnt going to tell you anyting valuable in relation to development of the bike. It will take them a year just to get a feel for a MotoGP bike compared to a moto2. JM for a year to get some good direction will be good tor yamaha.
Feels like a bit of a waste of everyone's time to have Jack riding round mid to back end of the grid for a year then being moved on inevitably for a younger Moto 2 talent. Harsh words from Aleix, but he wasn't wrong
Trackhouse, you disappoint me. I had faith that you were going to make the right decision and sign Joe Roberts. An American rider on an American team is a really strong combo
It's surprising i think Miller easily could've taken the Ducati SBK seat he's rumored to be i contention for and run at the front there rather than run most likely in the back on the Yamaha
for the life of me i cant understand how Miller keeps getting these rides..sure he is fast but he rarely finishes a race since he crashes out of almost every event
Simon, you are the MAN my Man lol. I'm just sick and tired of rider swaps over these many years and watching the same guy do the same things but in different colours (Maverick Vinales, Rins, Nakagami, Morbideli etc etc.) The hunger and desire of young riders coming through the smaller classes in MotoGP is where the sport should be at and bringing them through. I actually feel ashamed of my beloved MotoGP sport and am ready to just stop watching if I'm honest 😢
Are you delusional? Miller is like Joan Mir who jump from moto3 to MotoGP. This is bad decision for the 2 riders. Joan Mir is just lucky to win the MotoGP World Champion
@@beetlesazer that might be true, but miller still did better on the ducati than zarco. And Mir is not lucky, he was the most consistent rider that season just like how pecco is super consistent when he wins the championship.
