i read that already, but it baffles me that I have to get CP support to help me upgrade from take 22 to take 30. I recently was quite disappointed with CP Support, as they took 3 days to answer a basic question. IMO, they could've posted the steps either on checkmates or in the article (better). I get it that some users are not that experienced, but running some linux commands from an article is something a lot of people can do. OFFTOPIC: although CP states in their articles that they don't support DAC Cables from 3rd Party vendors, the official statement should be: "Use only Check Point DAC Cables and SFPs, as we implement an active blocking mechanism that prevents any other cables from being used, by checking the firmware ID against a built-in table".

Totally agree if its something small just make an SK about it, set it as "advance" and if need assistance contact check point support about it.
I hope and think that with next GA or CPUSE version they include it in the upgrade script so its fixed automatically.
Not sure how big of an issue it is, as the version was not recommended at that time.
Honestly regarding the support, my feeling is it really depends on when the support case is made and what TAC it ends up in.
Have heard similar from other partners, check point have grown alot during the last years in terms on employees.
I was not aware that 3 party DAC was not supported. thankfully am not affected as am running openservers instead of appliances. :)
