My mom passed away from breast cancer not long after turning 31. It was extremely aggressive and she only had her diagnosis for about 8 months before she lost her battle. I was still really little and grew up being told a ton that I’m at high risk and I should watch out, but for what? Thank you for posting this, because videos like this one helps me know what to look out for. I had a sudden swelling/enlargement in one breast this last year and I got it checked out immediately. It turned out to be hormonal changes from my birth control, but I’m still glad I went for the peace of mind. Definitely time to schedule a mammogram. 😬 Hope this video continues to circulate the algorithm. Take care everyone.
Yeah, my breasts have always been two different sizes (to the point that it’s impossible to find bras that fit right because they’re a cup size or more different). But I think it’s more that if one of them suddenly changes size and/or feels heavy.
@elyseb.5029 yeah I've got some Lil indents but saw a Dr about it like 13yrs ago when they appeared and nada. Also diff sizes, like I stg almost a full cup difference lmao. But I've gained weight too so I'm not too concerned
Yep. Check them and make sure if you go through this, you only tell people you KNOW will be there for you for support because the worst thing is to go through a cancer scare and you told people that don't really care. Waiting on results of a biopsy now. This is not a game. The smallest thing, go get it looked at. If doctors brush you off, keep asking until someone listens. Change doctors several times until you get someone that listens to you. Especially if you have an HMO.
I’m sorry you felt this way. Breasts come in different shapes and sizes. Consistently seeing only one type of shape creates a false sense of what is normal and can lead to negative self esteem. In reality, there is a spectrum of normal breast shape and size. I believe it’s important to show the reality of breasts and of course to be aware of what is normal for an individual so that if there are any changes, one can seek medical attention. ❤️
@@DrSimiAdedeji my breasts got to a D in grade six and I was a DDD after my second child. Everyone used to always like "oh I bet you've got floppy pale boobs with huge torpedo areolas and those gross veins" when I was a teenager, so I have always hated my pancake boobs, especially after losing 80 pounds and my breasts went back to the fat of a DD and the skin of a DDD. I know I shouldn't hate my body obviously, but it's hard when so many people used to make fun of me or you see guys saying the same stuff online. Thank you either way. Biggest appreciation.
Yeah, my doctors pretty much told me I'd just have to live with my nipple discharge. Even though they knew I had a pituitary adenoma or prolactinoma. No one tried to help me. They literally told me not to let the shower hit me directly on the breast and to wear a bra always even to bed. I was even prescribed depression meds prior to the doctor even looking at my brain scan because they just thought I was depressed when I tried to advocate for my own health. Then when they saw my scan they were like, after reviewing your scan you might want to see a neurologist or an endocrinologist. The Endocrinologist said the hormone meds side effects would be worse than the discharge itself and never prescribed me meds for it. My breast never stopped leaking and I was never pregnant. Medical professionals literally do not care about women's health. Even women in the field.
Thank you for posting this. LADIES especially if you are pregnant, please please get these things checked. My 36 yr old pregnant sister had some of these symptoms, it was thought to be an infection. Sadly, it was a very rare, extremely aggressive breast cancer. Listen to your body, if something doesn't seem right, advocate for yourself. ❤

I appreciate the example photos Dr! The puckering always kinda confused me as to what it was supposed to look like, so now i have a point of reference. Absolutely checking monthly for my health.
This stuff should be taught in schools as it's such important knowledge. It's good to know more about your body, its health, and what is and isn't normal - and also that breast cancer affects men too! Girls should get taught a lot better at school even about what is normal or not for periods. I have PCOS, endometriosis AND adenomyosis. I suffered for years and doctors told me my pain was normal or to just take the pill. If we don't know from the start, it's a lot harder to advocate for ourselves when we think something isn't right. If I had known earlier maybe I wouldn't be having a bowel resection soon. Thank you for this video, as women's health is something I'm very passionate about. 💜
I noticed an indentation in my breast. After a long wait it was diagnosed as breast cancer. And I was 32 years old at the time. So you’re never too young
Big facts I was 30 with stage 4 colon cancer...now I have a lump under my left breast, I can't wait to see my doctor tomorrow and I'm very nervous 😫😫🤦🏾
Men can get breast cancer too :) remember this! Men go undiagnosed extremely often, we dont have accurate stats on the rate of male breast cancer because of this
I went to a private school where the boys were separated from the girls. We had classes about our bodies and were taught what and what not to do. I was SHOOK when I transitioned to public school. I feel like public schools should do this but that just would not work smh Maybe they could do it for health classes only.
Thank you! It's also surprising how many doctors don't know about nipple eczema! I had weeping sores from the age of 14 - 25 (a breast reduction resolved it for me). I used to regularly go to the doctor and no one knew what it was. I was in so much pain and my clothes would always be fused to me because of the weeping scabs. I even got referred to a breast cancer screening when I was 17! (I'm now 29, so this wasn't even that long ago).
I don't know why RUclips brought me here as a man. But honestly I think that's hecka interesting. I send this to my close friend who told me she hasn't been visiting a specialized Women's doctor office in years, out of fear (duo to cases in the family). Maybe this change her mind or least let her consider to get checked. Just because we don't share the same problems, doesn't mean we don't care for your well-being ladies. ❤
Thank you for your comment ☺️This is great to see - I agree that women’s health, concerns everyone. It’s amazing that you are also supporting your friend’s health in this way.👏🏾
Thank you 😊 She also agreed to make an appointment which made me really happy. I mean it only took one concerned friend to ask, that made her decide on a easy action she never done for herself. I think this should be normalized and taught in schools for both genders. It's part of self care and not doing it for anyone else but those people who love, care and respect you. Wish you a great day.
Men have breast tissue too, it’s probably good to keep an eye out even though it’s rare for men to get breast cancer. Good job for getting your friend to take it seriously!

I am so tired with people telling that this should not be at yt.First of all...This video is all about medical not sexual so why are you saying that... is it because you see a woman's breast as a sexual organ and not a useful organ for babies???As a man i say, boys should be educated to stop seeing breast as a sexual thing because they have one too so why girls are the only one to be sexualize for it?RUclips isn't even supposed to be for kids there's whole different yt for kids and you know for a fact that this kind of youtube is filled with adults
I get an abscess in my left breast every 4 to 6 months or so and then it drains leaking puss and blood.. it's painful and has swelled up to the size of a tangerine. Ive been to a breast specialist and surgeon and nobody has been able to tell me what is causing it... My options were surgery to remove the tissue which still wouldn't guarantee that the problem goes away for good or they'll prescribe me antibiotics to have on hand for when it happens. All they could tell me was that it wasn't cancer. I'm so used to it ive learned to live with it, it's been like this for about 7 years and started not long after I stopped breast feeding my first child. Thank you for posting this, i may go and get a few more opinions.❤

I told my gp I was discharging fluid before covid and many years after having children. My mammogram was clear in 2020. In 2021 I noticed I was missing spots while shaving my armpit. Didn't worry me too much at the time. My mother was diagnosed with her second round of breast cancer when I got a reminder for my mammogram. I got a call back which they said was just to check an area that I had been told the year before was scarring. When the nurse said she was happy with the new images I just about collapsed when she said she needed to try to get images of the lump under my arm. My cancer was not in the breast tissue at all. I had 100% ER+ breast cancer in my lymph nodes. I am now living with cancer until my oncologist says otherwise.

Take care everyone.
i am so sorry for your loss

Doc can i ask if the inverted nipple always the sign of cancer??
@@DrSimiAdedeji I always had inverted nipples, so what is that. When my daughter was born I how to use plastic nipples because of it
I guess the word here is "change"? I have two of these but I have them since I have breast. It always been like that.😅
Yeah, one of my nipples has always kinda had a crease in it.
Yeah, my breasts have always been two different sizes (to the point that it’s impossible to find bras that fit right because they’re a cup size or more different).
But I think it’s more that if one of them suddenly changes size and/or feels heavy.
@@Annie_Annie__ uneven breast size is very common.
@@Aerie925 inverted nipples are quite common, and perfectly normal as long as they’ve always been like that. 🤗
@elyseb.5029 yeah I've got some Lil indents but saw a Dr about it like 13yrs ago when they appeared and nada. Also diff sizes, like I stg almost a full cup difference lmao. But I've gained weight too so I'm not too concerned
Thank you for this video… made a doctors appointment, may have saved my life.
❤
Thank you for using such different breast images. I've always felt like I have ugly breasts and seeing them represented helps
I'm sorry you feel this way love ♥
In my opinion there's no such thing as ugly breasts, the darn things are great! Lol
They don't taught this specifically in school and women's body aren't talked or researched about enough!
Thank you sm I need a whole series of this!❤❤🎉
@@Moonart7758 that's because it lead's to problems at school I should know I got in trouble just for doing my homework about it on the bus that got me punished and sent to alternative school for 45 days just for doing my homework.
Algorithm do your thing. Prevention starts with awareness. I just got my boobs “smashed” and got the thumbs up. Check your head lights people; men included (men can get breast cancer too).
I appreciate the example photos Dr! The puckering always kinda confused me as to what it was supposed to look like, so now i have a point of reference. Absolutely checking monthly for my health.
Glad you found this helpful and that it has encouraged you to perform regular checks ☺️
i can’t express enough how much appreciate this channel. never stop educating people ! ❤
Thank you for such a lovely comment! 😊
I noticed an indentation in my breast. After a long wait it was diagnosed as breast cancer. And I was 32 years old at the time. So you’re never too young

Im a male and was getting recommended this every time I've opened up RUclips for the past week so now I got new information
Men can get breast cancer too :) remember this! Men go undiagnosed extremely often, we dont have accurate stats on the rate of male breast cancer because of this
You're very intelligent ma.
This is genuinely so good because of the lack of health education taught. Like it's insane how women and men are not taught this in school.
I went to a private school where the boys were separated from the girls. We had classes about our bodies and were taught what and what not to do. I was SHOOK when I transitioned to public school. I feel like public schools should do this but that just would not work smh Maybe they could do it for health classes only.
I love and appreciate that you show what this can look like on black/brown skin
More of these health matter shorts, please.
I'm a guy, but i appreciate health education in any form.

It’s amazing that you are also supporting your friend’s health in this way.👏🏾
Thank you 😊
She also agreed to make an appointment which made me really happy.
Good job for getting your friend to take it seriously!
can you give us a little more in depth on each one of these signs/symptoms and what they can be caused by with more detail please.? 🙏

Can you please make a video of “how to get rid of hyperpigmentation “ Pleaseeee🙏🙏🙏

#3 (puckering) happened to me! Stage 2 survivor
I wonder if it’s a cyst and they never took the sac wall out, causing it to just always refill. I hope you can get some answers.
Try a dermatologist! Especially since it could be a type of cyst that will just keep refilling if it isn't removed or treated.
Same it’s on my left side and it fills up 2-3x a year. I end up draining it. After watching dr pimple popper Im guessing the sac needs to be removed. But my dr just gives me antibiotics for it.
I have an inverted nipple, is this healthy or not?
I can come over and check for you if you're worried
