Quit a different start than your beer club video, but than again standing in pouring rain while saying goodbyes is not quite the same as sampling free beers, right!? 😂 Too bad that this didn't went through, Christopher Lee is a great actor indeed. Never knew Hugh Grant did play the part though. Interesting and nicely done review.

I'm hoping that Big Finish will make an audio play of this uncovered story at some point. Maybe Sean Pertwee could be convinced to come in and take up his father's role as the Third Doctor? Oh, and it would be great to get Hugh Grant involved in it as well!

Wow. Always thought it was a third Dalek Film...even my friend thought it was going to be another Dalek film.

Rumour had it for years that there was a third Dalek film, but it had been destroyed in a fire. Turned out to be false though. I'm sure that if Daleks Invasion Earth 2150AD had been more profitable when it first came out that we would have seen many more Doctor Who films with Peter Cushing.

I dont think it would have been his Greatest Adventure, but it could have been a fun plot for tv

Oh yes, probably not his greatest adventure, but certainly one of the most outrageous!

Would the crabs the Doctors battled not have been the Macra, a crab-like alien species? They already exist in Doctor Who and predate the publishing of Guy N Smith's books by about a decade.

It's entirely possible. Although the canon between the film and TV versions have been loose at best.

The Three Doctors meets The Macra Terror meets The Sea Devils 😂

While this is interesting and could very well be real I can't help but be dubious about Hugh Grant being involved. Hugh Grant was born in 1960 and would've been in his early teens during Pertwee's tenure as the Doctor. Even if this movie was to made after Pertwee's time as the Doctor, Hugh Grant didn't begin acting until 1982. Amicus Studios had already dissolved by 1977 and Subotsky was in Canada at this time still trying to revive the horror anthology format Amicus was known for.

It does seem a little odd, doesn't it? But hey, that's what was proposed by Subotsky. Pertwee's name is mentioned, I think even Tom Baker would have been mentioned. But the only way this would really line up would be during Peter Davison's era, and he's not even mentioned in the script or the proposed story.

I know, right? Cushing as The Doctor, Lee as The Master, what could have been! Here's hoping that Big Finish can do something with this recently uncovered story.
