    Thank you, Stephen! The T-line and the reversal signals are so helpful and easy to follow. They have helped me avoid costly mistakes. I watch this video regularly. Never before have I heard such a clear explanation of pivotal candlestick patterns and the importance of the 8-day exponential average line. I also read your daily Stock Market Comments, always positive and helpful. It's like having a guide by my side. You are a treasure! Thank you.

    You demonstrate a very easy pattern to trade. These patterns you show are simple to trade because the swings are so up and down and smooth. It's not like that in real trading anymore. I''l bet these illustrations were from trading days before 2005.

    There's so much going on in this video. The hammer is identical to the Hanging man. The buy and sell dojis, based on his own words, looking at his charts, contradict what he's saying do in the chart. I'm literally looking at active candlesticks as he's talking and if I invested like he's saying, I'd lose on every one of them. And I'm only 33 minutes into this video.
    I'm sure this guy knows this like the back of his hand. But I don't feel like he's explaining it very well to people trying to learn. There's so much here that isn't computing.

    The concept is good but micro trading,alot of these old fashion rules don't work and the black boxes and high frequency traders have squeezed out the scalpers and micro traders becasue you dont really get the big moves anymore, the counter moves come too soon. This change occured when the computer trading became predominantly the market and the specialists retired.

    If this technique works so well,why not scalp the market on 1 minute charts using this method. Why use daily and have to wait weeks before profiting?Just leverage your position on the short term and you make the same money but you profit take in 5 minutes instead of 5 months.

    I have a positive philosophy regarding candelsticks. After all, this indicates price; and price is what is always happening, where indicators are mostly mirrors of this. One can see the dips, hills and valley of the price chart just as well as he can with indicator wiggles. Let the markets dictate the price and let the student or retail trader discern the duration and direction of the dramaturgy.
    On platforms as the TOS, one can see a shameful glut in the enumeration of indicators lavished upon the trader, giving him the impression that he is possibly missing out if he doesn't consider more in this forever list. This will only serve to confound the student/trader.

    Hey Bozo... Go for small increases 5, 10%, several trades a day. Buy at support and sell just before resistance. That's how you make an account grow. You're comment must be from experience, it's too bad you weren't shown how this works. Imagine 10% on a $5000.00 trade makes you $500.00. Now do that a few times every day. You'll never go broke taking a little profit.

      Great Question, Steve looks at Stochastics (12 , 3, 3) to verify them. He likes to see Stochastics at overbought or oversold levels. Also, keep in mind that Steve says that Doji is simply a sign of indecision. He likes to trade the decisions and not the indecision. This is why a lot of his patterns use Doji followed by a confirmation that a decision has been made. For example, the Doji BF is a Doji followed by a gap up --Indecision followed by a decision. Hope it helps, you may want to check out his site : www.candlestickforum.com.

Most of them don't come,maybe once a week or once every two weeks,the rest are whippsawed ups and downs.Most of the old fashion candle rules here work better in the night and very early sessions3 am to 5 am.After 830 or opening bell mostly gets very goosy.The 2:30 est second opening as velez once coined,doesnt come anyore over 7 years ago. the market now flattens out at 2:30 when it used to be considered the second opening.Times have changed.

      In a lot of cases, Steve will use a 7 EMA (t-line) with this strategy as a stop. The instrument must CLOSE under the T-Line. In the case the instrument moves fast in the correct direction, Steve will use a 3 EMA instead.
      In a lot of cases, there will also be an initial stop loss added depending on the pattern. These are outline in the commentaries for the MetaStock add on when they are applicable.

    I think the only thing I got from this that might be useful is buying at points of indecision and setting your stops smaller then your limit. If your lucky half the time you'll make money.
    I think what using this would actually do is give confidence so you don't randomly bail out when you should see your profit through to the next point of indecision.
    But I'm very new at this ;)

    Is there a difference between the reading when you compare stocks and forex?

    • @sweetpete4912
      @sweetpete4912 7 лет назад +4

      Not really, they are the same. However you should have a different methodology for stocks and forex. Depends on your trading style (scalping/day/swing/position trading). For short-term, you'd focus more on technical analysis so reading candle sticks would be similar (watch out of economic events in forex). For long-term, you really need to focus more on fundamental analysis than technical analysis.
      Patterns (wedges, flags, triangles), support and resistance lines and candle sticks work with both. (Basically price action analysis)

      Embiv... In my experience, candlestick analysis works just as good in the forex market as it does in the stock market.. Hope this helps!

    9:10 you say when you see a doji at the top "sell" but in the following example where you see a steady bullish trend where you see a lot of Doji's on the way to the top, that's one thing that confuses me. if you were to sell as soon as you saw a doji at the top wouldn't you have cutten your profit like you explained after?

    • @jeffreygibby3224
      @jeffreygibby3224 5 лет назад

      I'll do my best to answer this for you. The definition for a Doji at the Top is a Doji followed by a gap down. Steve always says Dojis represent indecision. We don't want to trade indecision, we want to trade the decision. So, in this case, the gap down is the decision and where you would look to go short. You could put your stop at the top of the Doji as you won't be right all the time. The opposite of this pattern is called the Doji Best Friend. This is a Doji followed by a gap up. I hope it helps.

      Traders ask about the best time frame and consistent strategy on Doji, i want to tell you that all time frames work with a developed strategy. master a developed strategy and choose your time frame, find a way of making money trading it with a good strategy. as for me i use IQD Momentum strategy to make money with my perfect timing on doji. reading vital ebooks from the developer LUKASZ WILHELM.

    Do you ever use Heiken Candles? I find they are really good for advanced warning of trend changes and slown down. Japanese candles can be dynamite if you know how to read them. Thanks Steve great video.

    If the charts shown are not one minute charts for day trading, then the presentation comes up short. I suppose if you are a swing trader, this may be useful, but isn't the minute charts the real indication of effectiveness? Still insightful info, but lacking.

    Abandoned babys dont work more then 50% of the time in micro trading with 1 or 5 minute charts.I like a 70%+ percentage of winners. at 50% success,you have to rely on big trends to come out ahead.
