- Rust and other memory safe languages are the source of 70% of vulnerabilities in software according to Microsoft and Google. The White House is recommending developers take up memory safe programming languages as a result.

If you're a web developer, learn JS, TS, React. At this point you can choose to learn Rust.

Rust has a lot to offer as well. Also, I've seen people using Unreal Engine with Rust. However, best support game development in Rust is with Bevy.

One of the best use cases of Rust is actually game development!
In a certain way could it force C/C++ to fix those issues or is the tech burden (you had a video about this not that long ago ;), I'm learning) too far gone or is it just not possible to fix because of how the language is built?
I'd look into shared_ptr and unique_ptr. It seems like C++ already has memory safe features; they're just not widely used or known.
It is not possible to fix the memory safety issues in C and C++ without changing the language so much it no longer builds existing code bases. Essentially one would be creating entirely new languages out of them.
Doesn't matter too much unless you have the domain experience to back it up.

Is C# more memory safe than C++? I've started studying programming as of the last couple of months and decided on going with C#.
It is! Its very similar to Java. Although I must say the number of jobs is not as much as Java, it's still a great language to try out

Absolutely. C# is garbage collected language where the programmer does not manipulate memory directly. It is the direct low level manipulation that is inherently unsafe. C# does not have this issue.

Yet they use windows systems. Bad code will introduce security problems. How about investing in actually training new devs instead of relying on them to train themselves. Na Coperations and Washington rather just blame the tools.
if the white house says so, it's not true. rust is ugly and hard to learn. I know how to manage threads (message passing) and memory (smart pointers and if you are using Qt you have simple and powerful mechanisms to manage the memory).

The counter to this is the “raison d’être” for the White House recommendation. We’ve tried the “write it better” for 50 years. News flash, it didn’t work. C and C++ are disastrously unsafe out of the box. No amount of care and feeding by the dev will change that.
Time to move on.
