- My Star Wars/The Mask of Zorro mash-up. FAQ:
Q: What software did you use to create the lightsabers?
A: I used a fantastic lightsaber plug-in created by VideoCoPilot.net (thank you once again, Andrew Kramer!) for Adobe After Effects. I used After Effects 7.0 for this project.
Q: How long did it take you to put this together?
A: This one is a little harder to estimate, because I wasn't as focused on it as I was with my two "Immortal Jedi" videos -- I'm a new father, so I just sort of worked on it between diaper changes. But if I had to guess at the work hours ... if "Immortal Jedi II" took me about 100 hours spread out over 2 month, I'd say "Mask of the Jedi" took me about 60 hours spread out over 4 months.

Plus he didn't forget to add the lightsaber in the mirror in the beginning of the video. I would've overlooked that.

funny that Dooku is rather disapproving of Form IV, yet Zorro actually uses a very effective mix of both Makashi and Ataru.

He's basically using Shaak Ti's style: a hybrid blend of Ataru and Makashi with hers including elements of Seresu blast deflection.
I think Zorro uses Makashi, Ataru, and Niman.

Batesmotel1960 "Immortal Jedi II" is still live -- technically. It's listed on my Copyright Notices page as "Video Blocked in Some Countries," and exactly *which* countries are blocked seems to change (for instance, at the moment, it's blocked here in the U.S., but this is not always the case). I would delete & re-upload it, but I'm concerned it would get blocked *entirely* the second time and/or would threaten the standing of my RUclips channel.Thanks for the enthusiasm, though! :-)
If zoro was a jedi he'd definitely be on the jedi council
he probably would one of the few Jedis to practice Makashi
he seems quite capable of Ataru too
ReduxEditor335 Zorro would have some trouble if he fought a Form V Specialist, specifically a Djem So Specialist. That would be the classic "Finesse vs Brute Force" match up.
Braidon Bowman Not young (second) Zorro. He's more like the Anakin type of this story, though less evil -though with the Influence of the dark side who knows.- The First Zorro on the other hand, Delavega, would definitely be on the Jedi Council.
Braidon Bowman Well not at this point. In the first movie he's still very cocky and impulsive. However in the second movie he's shown to have very much matured and make better decisions. So I'd say by the second movie he'd make a good Jedi master.
He'd be more of a rogue jedi. Not jedi nor sith serving the people

I think his lightsaber should have been black, like the cw darksaber.

Funny thing is, the Generation Z Zorro (from the show of the same name) used a double ended lightsaber similar to Darth Maul's.

This is amazingly detailed - lightsaber reflections, lens flares, erasing the actual blade, and the parts where the lightsaber goes behind objects. Amazing.

I really like the whole fencing style of sword fighting, realistic and still cool looking. Zorro probably could have given Obi-Wan a good fight. lol
Technically speaking Form 2, Makashi, which Count Dooku used was designed after this kind of sword style.
The fighting in this movie is actually rather unrealistic, but unsurprising as much of Hollywood's attention to realism is lacking.
I love how Zorro actually uses a very effective mix of both Makashi and Ataru, which are almost completely opposite in terms of techniques. (Makashi is very linear and conservative whereas Ataru is sporadic and kinetic)
Obi-Wan would have had the high ground anyway
The Sword fighing choreographer for this film was Bob Anderson, the same person who choreographed the lightsaber duels in the original Star Wars trilogy. I think he also played Darth Vader during the duels because David Prowse couldn’t keep up in Empire & Jedi.
LOVE the attention to detail! Right down to the blaster sound effects for the guns. This video is goddamn perfection.

I like that Love has a green saber, I suppose to emphasize that he’s hiding his true self under the guise of a “noble knight”.
Well Captain Love is a Union soldier or a Federal Soldier so the green lightsaber would suggest he is in line with the good side, the U.S., when we know Captain Love is actually evil.
No no, Captain Love is terribly Evil and Crazy, the correct colour for his saber should be red.
Unless he is like grevious when he first used lightsabers, as well as a general. Just thinking of how his lightsaber could be green because grevious had fallen jedi lightsabers stolen from the jedi. I think its a strong theory.
As it approached the scene where the guards fire at him, I was really, really hoping that they'd been edited to blaster-fire.
Wasn't disappointed. Very well done.

I see a bit of Form IV Ataru in Zorro's fighting style too.

So many excellent details in this video; the lightsabers in the mirror, the blaster sounds of the soldier's guns, and even removing the blade of Zorro's sabre when he retrieves it.
This is pure brilliance. The attention to detail with the blaster effect, lightsaber sounds, visuals, it's perfect. Zorro and Star Wars are classics.

Zorro has the high ground
Would anyone like to comment about how awesome the part at 27 seconds is Captain Love is doing exactly what Luke did to Vader with the same colour lightsaber just striking repeatedly, I'm not sure that you intended to do that but you've mirrored that scene perfectly which is amazing.

I've watched several of these today. I could watch lightsaber remakes of old movies all day. Elegant choreography...Dooku would be pleased.
I think this is great. The only thing I don't like is that Captain Love has a green lightsaber. He's a bad guy so should be red.

I think he would have a Black Lightsaber. Love is entirely devoted to his own goals and doesn't care about the consequences.

Just building my own story here, Captain love would be Zorro's fallen apprentice and this whole scene was him escaping after failing to redeem him.

ReduxEditor335 not necessarily. The swords in Star Wars have a cortosis weave so it isn't made completely of cortosis, more like they add enough of it to be on the same level as lightsabers.

How'd you do that anyway?
I took a different section of the ground, matching the brick pattern as well as I could, and laid it over the sword's blade. It was fairly easy, except for the moments (frames) where Zorro's arm passes over that area.

Thanks! Yes, I have thought about doing more (this was actually my third, following "Immortal Jedi" and "Immortal Jedi II"); it is simply a question of time & opportunity. I have considered the 2011 "Three Musketeers" as well as the final fight from "Rob Roy."

This is honestly better than some Star Wars fights. Especially the scene with Rey practicing against the rock on Luke's island or the throne room fight scene from episode 8.
