My Brother in Islam, you have explained beautifully, although generically, about the zulm that is committed by the judges and others involved, to jail a prominent and popular leader in one of the Muslim countries. May Allah swt reward you immensely for your courage to boldly highlight the wrongful interpretation of sharia for petty political gains by these people. I hope the other scholars also come forward to speak about such shameful mockery of sharia and demand immediate release of the husband & wife from jail. Once again, you have played your role, for which I sincerely pray to Allah swt. to accept your efforts in this regard and reward you amply, aameen. 🙌

Jazak'Allah khair Shaykh for talking on such an important and sensitive issue, i am sure it will open up eyes of many ignorant people. We have witnessed so much injustice in our country recently. Everyone's including judges, bureaucrats and even religious scholars if you can call them that are all so much politicised. Imran Khan, who i am sure you are referring to is being made a victom for his honesty and inclination towards the religion, which is quite rare in Pakistans leadership. This was one of the many most ridiculous cases he was jailed for because they couldn't find any corruption charges against him. May Allah Subhan o taala guide us all and make us all follow the path of Rasool Allah ( saw) and his companions.

Thank you for discussing the controversies of this topic. I greatly appreciate that you mentioned the significance of the testimony of the female in such a private matter. In some situations and countries, the purity of the Shariah and the rights that Allah(swt) gives to women through Islam is not discussed as openly. Thus, misunderstandings can occur and diminish the true beauty of our faith.
The fear and hope in Allah (swt) that encompasses all believers can be a source of inspiration in such matters. In order to increase the knowledge of the Ummah as well as for dawah, pleeease continue to discuss topics such as these in the future in sha Allah.

You have explained the question of iddat at length, but the matter is not as simple as it seems. Some of the points that need to be looked at are:
At the time of nikah, the nikah khwan Mufti Saeed asked for divorce papers to verify that iddat was completed. He was told that these will be shown to him later, which was not done.
The ex husband claims a date of divorce for which iddat was not completed before re-marriage. To overcome this objection, Mufti Saeed was called later to perform nikah all over again. This appears to confirm the ex husband's claim.
The lady insisted that nikah must be held by a certain date for the groom to get his desired goal. She said she had received this advice 'from above', implying that she was in touch with a supernatural source. Some say that black magic was also involved which needs violating a divine injunction; hence the necessity of incomplete iddat.
She is reported to have asked for a specific property as mehr just before the nikah, and on this being declined, to have 'discussed' with the higher authority, after which she settled for another property.
The issue of menses is irrelevant as it was never raised, only the date of divorce is disputed. Khula was also not brought up.
Of course the fact that the ex husband raised the iddat issue years later calls into doubt his integrity.
The new husband is known never to attend a Muslim's funeral. As a matter of principle Qadianis don't, as they consider all others kaafir. Some members of his mother's family are known to belong to this group.
His late father-in-law, a staunch zionist, agreed to the marriage after some hesitation, and then backed him to the hilt with all his wealth and power. As early as the 1990s, some eminent persons saw in this union a way to foist on the country's political scene someone who could be manipulated easily.
According to the divorce settlement, he let his ex wife keep his share of the assets, thus avoiding taxes, along with his children. She sees to their education, both secular and religious, as well as the finances. He supported his zionist brother-in-law's campaign against the Muslim mayor of London.
Much of this is hearsay, but I thought you should know the other side of the story as well since you live far away and may not be aware of all these matters.

Jazak-Allah bilkyar sheikh for clearly explain a complicated issue of IDDAH many people didn't get right even among the scholars, I really want to you to clearly explain the stand of these 2 category of divorce how the woman involved is going to do her IDDAH. 1. If the woman is pregnant and was divorced how is she going to do her IDDAH is it after delivery her iddah start or immediately?
2. A lady was married for 25yrs and have kids with her husband then the husband left her for yrs without divorcing her, he doesn't visit her or call her or send food for her and her kids, he cease all the responsibilities of marriage for 7yrs until when her wali confronted him to decide weather to continue with the marriage or divorce her officially, he later divorce her by then she entered menopause, now how is her IDDAH going to be. Jazak-Allah bilkyar.
Good topic to discuss. Please do one on iddah after the husband passes away. There are so many cultural misconceptions around that topic borrowed from different idol worshiping mythology.

The Supreme Court today (July 10) held that a divorced Muslim woman is entitled to file a petition for maintenance against her ex-husband under Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The Court held that this right of a Muslim woman is in addition to the right under the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Divorce) Act 1986.
what if the divorced lady has 2 periods then enters menopause and no longer has periods what is the iddah then?
Read Surah dalaq, it talks about those in menopause and the Iddah..
