Please note this is just my personal preference all the games are fantastic and Love them all. This is just for fun dont take it too seriosly.

Please note this is just my personal preference, all the games are fantastic and Love them all. This is just for fun dont take it too seriosly. Ps. I know persona 2 has two parts i put it together due to the limited space I have on these videos. I like IS slightly more than EP. There is an entire video ranking every game up until 2022 if anyone wants to look it up.

God I love P1 protag's character design, he looks so cool such a shame the game really isn't. And I really love P2's protag and plot and would love it if they remake it - hopefully the combat and gameplay will be a lot more interesting 😅 (if they remake it) I found it so hard to get through P2 because of it.
Rejoice, I heard Atlus considering to remake P1 and P2 after massive respond they got for P3R.
I think P1 has incredible potential for a remake. The characters, the story, but most importantly the game's overall design and horror like atmosphere. No other Persona game has the same vibe to it.
@@thomasmacdonough288 I think most of it contributes to the time it was made. I doubt they'd be able to recreate those vibes as well now but they could defo make P1 better if they actually want to remake it.

Persona 4 is the only persona game which made me invested in the characters and it has extremely iconic music. My favourite easily

I might make some people mad but I really never understood the story of Persona 3. I love Persona 4 and it is my favorite. Like I played Portable and the original (not FES) and watched the anime and read the manga but I honestly don’t understand what is so good about it. Also this is the only Persona game in which I had to switch the voices to Japanese.
Although the gameplay of P3FES is dated, it still remains my favourite, it has the best story and soundtrack imo, great list

I got into the series about two years ago so I don’t have that much bias towards most of the games but while I admit the story of p3fes is good, I really didn’t like a lot of aspects of the gameplay. Honestly my least favorite megaten game I’ve played.
@@darkyz8538 I too got into the series about 2 years ago and I definitely agree that gameplay has come a long way to where we are now, and Tartarus can be tedious, but outside of that I just love it, I love the character dynamics and how they evolve without the input of MC and discover themselves along their own journey, that partnered with the strong story and heavy themes just really made me feel and connect with the game more than the others, but it's all about opinions I can see why people would favour the others
considering it was the foundation of the future games its very reasonable

Persona 5: The Royal Experience was perfect. Perfect.
Everything down to the last minuet details.

Persona series is just albums which come with some free games as an add-on 🦹
P3 has its problems but it's still number 1 for me. It felt like Minato/Makoto developed the most as the story progressed.
Praying that with the new versions for Switch will make P3 shine more (despite being a very dark game compared to P4)

I have such a new appreciation for Minato/Makoto after watching the movies and then playing P3R. He's amazing. If I think about it too much, I think I could make myself cry.

Let’s make this clear, none of these games are truly bad, Persona 1 and 2 are very underrated and enjoyable games despite their dated nature. Persona 4 is my favourite game of all time and 3 and 5 have some amazing stories and characters. I love every game to death.
I agree a lot of people on the comments get really hurt bc their favorite game isn't numbered one on my list. I even have a comment stating this is just my personal preference. And it's not even an objective list it's just my favorites in a specific order nothing too deep. I think they are all great and very fun
I've only played P5R so far, but will play P4G or P3F/P3P later this year
Play P3P because you can control party but there is also a mod for P3F to control the party
@@Omelander not being able to give direct commands isn’t that big of an issue in FES if you use the tactics menu. Don’t have them act freely all the time and you’re good. The battles were designed with this in mind. I haven’t played p3p, but from what I heard it uses p4 vanilla’s battle system and rules, which makes the game a lot easier.
Play p3 FeS it gives you better experience. Though p3p has many benefits over FeS but you can play the answer part in FeS only and it is an epilogue which explains the ending.
@@Omelander why do people hate uncontrollable party members so much?
I think it's fairly balanced with the amount of tactics the game gives you, it's also an unique feature that's not in any other Megami Tensei titles (as far as I am aware of). Personally I think it gives a new and challenging experience.
@Soliera I’m really mixed between P3P and FES, on combat alone. While having direct control over your whole party is great, there’s a certain charm to them not being able to be controlled and only “directed” through tactics, it kinda makes them feel more like their own people, if that makes sense.
My favorite is Persona 3 as well. The story really affected me. What the Journey was all about.
The story pretty much was enhanced because I was underleveled and I didn't bother to buy items before the final boss cuz I was breezing through it just fine. The struggle to live just did wonders. It came down to every single item I had in my inventory.
Even though it's obvious the first two games didn't age well enough to hold up to future titles, you can make a case for placing P3, 4, and 5 in any order which shows just how good they all are.
Every persona RPG games have the best music, Shoji is GOATed for sure

Eventually, I got more into it and started going around channels that include Persona 3/4/5. Including yours.

I'd play 1 and 2 when they get a remaster and look more modern and not first person or grid like. I'm just not into first person like Etrian Oddessey or grid unless it's Fire Emblem 3DS
Same. I would like a modern remake of that but with the original soundtrack. It had such a dark and oppressive vibe. I loved it. I never got to beat it because my memory card got wiped before I could defeat the level 99 final boss.

We have the exact same tastes. Although I do flip 5 and 3 from time to time. 3's story is the best, but 5 is more fun to play overall. So wich one is my favourite largely depends on my mood that day
I do this too. If P3R hadn't come out, I think I'd feel the exact same way.
I would really like to love P3 but as a whole I have a lot of complains with that game, I love it and dislike it so much, I really wanna make an analysis on the game with my thoughts of it, maybe one day I'll finally make it happen

The gampleay is rusty that is all, compared to the Fun, fast and Jazzy P5 gameplay. But the caracters where very awesome, more complex than the ones on Persona 5. Also I liked more the main villiains on Persona 5, in Persona 3 where too weak, those who where actually difficult where shadows without personality and the ones that had a personality and motives were very easy to defeat so it was a little anticlimathic, except of course the final boss that was dope.

old comment but when you look back at royal's third semester it actually comes very close to P1's even the music and especially some of the visuals and story elements/themes
I love p4g and p5r but that last battle with nyx in p3 when your party members are cheering you on while burn my dread (Last battle) beats your ears in the background just hits DIFFERENT

@@milkflavored I respect your opinion, it’s story is fairly different from the other games and I’ve had friends that don’t like it as much as P3 or P5 so i getcha.
For me personally the persona games have only gotten better over time. I can understand why some people prefer certain games over others like how some people prefer the classic personas to the modern personas and I can totally see why p3 is above 4 and 5.
The classic Persona games have better pacing, stories and characters. Also, they have better gameplay mechanics AND the negotiation system: a SMT staple that only reappeared in P5 after P3 and P4 skipped it.
Also also, they don't have what is probably the worst mechanics of the modern games: the calendar system (aka the extremely frustrating time limit) and the Social Links/Confidents.
@@martinde-serres8724 no the really don't have any of that. P5 does a much better job with everything there apart from pacing where its a bit worse. Also social links are great. I guarantee that you are an SMT elitest.

Awesome list! I kinda agree with #1 P3 is the one game in the series that truly left me a mark (a bit like 4 lol) but personally I think I would have put Persona 2 higher on this list: sure gameplay feels very outdated and clunky but I think P2 to this day has the best written characters (literally everyone in the cast is fleshed out and I love it) and most interesting story in the entire series. I do love just as much the modern games though

My only experience with P3 is Reload since I just got into the series a few years ago with P5R. And I’m currently playing through P4G. I don’t know if I’ll get a chance to play the first 2 but if 3, 4, and 5 are the only ones I get to play I’ll need to finish 4G before I make a decision on which is my favorite. I’m enjoying the hell out of 4G so far.
My rank is the same, even so I really wanted a remake of the 1 and 2 because the history of both games are really good, but the gameplay, oh lord have mercy
I played P4Golden first and loved it, but I still have to say P5 is my favorite in terms of story and music. I've tried P3 but haven't gotten too far in yet
Times are definitely changing for this community. I always thought 3 and 5 were better than 4 but it always seemed like 4 was praised more than the others. Glad to see 3 getting the recognition it deserves. It’s in my top 3 games with Metroid prime and Fallout New Vegas.

I really don't have a preference between P5R, P4G, and P3P/FES. They all have great strengths that make them stand out, but all have weaknesses that don't particularly make them better than the others.
Persona 1: where friends came come from many different types of backgrounds, weither you're rich or poor, smart or dumb, as long as you're reasonable with those around you, anything can be done with the power of teamwork
Persona 2: No matter what; through Ones love for another can go beyond space and time, dimentions even.
Persona 3: Even with what's gone on in the characters' lives, weither they might dislike someones ideas or values, they're all one big happy disfunctional family.
Persona 4: through thick and thin, a person is still a person, you can't change who you are. you need to get back up and do your best, help others and treat others the way you'd like to be treated
Persona 5: Adults bad.
Any game can sound like complete trash if you explain it poorly.

@@CallofDutyBlackOps28 think the intresting take away from royal is how the third semester does borrow a bit from 1 and it's manga adaptation and along with the music and visuals being very similar to it like the palace visual before heading with the rainbow effect is a lot like the 2nd phase of pandora
nah i fw 5 the most the adults bad trope gets annoying but i like how they fight the injustice of society like makeshift heroes and do good rather then initally "you gotta save the world/town", even tho at the end of 5 u do just that lol
What's great about the franchise is that you could say either Persona 3, 4 or 5 is your favourite, and all choices are equally valid.

Fully agree with this list. P3FES is just great. Playing P4G after that felt off. Was so much about friendship and ones true self...it was too bright even though people was literally being murdered. The scale of things was small compared to P3. Tartarus was huge and the danger later expanded to all of existence
P3 theme is like mainline so u should try it if u havent yet
I just recently play persona 3 reload and it’s actually really fun for a remake
I love how by the time we get to P2, we dive into what I'd consider the 9-10/10 territory. I seriously love this series.
P1 was cool too, the music especially slapped, but other than that it's not exactly my cup of tea.
I rlly loved the p1 manga but these are the games were talking abt. My list is probably:
1. P3FES
2. Persona 2 Duology
3. Persona 5 Royal
4. Persona 4 Golden
5. Persona 1 (manga is probably just above p5, and I definitely recommend it).

I think P2 IS and P2 EP should be ranked seperatly just because of the difficulty
IS is so easy it ruins the experience, it's the easiest megaten game I know

Played all of them, everyone has its niches, even though the older games may seem dated especially p1 and 2, it’s still really great at its core. Would love to see the persona protagonist team up in a spin-off series.

Everyone has a different placing of 3,4, and 5…. Mine goes 4 > 5 >> 3, but we just have to wait for reload
My ranking is
1) persona 3 ( so happy i decided to buy it. It is also the game that has one of my favourite characters in general in it.)
2) persona 4 (it’s fun and it has a friendly homey feel to it)
3) persona 5 ( may have put it lower if i new more about the other two games. Love some of the game other parts are just me screaming please let this be over already.)
4) persona 1 ( I haven’t played the game just watched a play though)
5) persona 2 (I haven’t gotten around to watching a play through yet )

For me at the moment it’s gonna have to be P5. It’s just… wow. A game I never thought would be that amazing was truly… something. I’m currently playing my first playthrough of P4G and it’s amazing, but wether it’ll beat P5 is unlikely

I've only played p5r but from the general consensus I've gotten the games are ranked in order with a bit of mix up between 4 and 5
I was captivated by persona 5 vanilla, then going on to love the entire series, and I'll soon own a majority of it on switch.
P5 was introduction but P5R was my first finish with P3R being my favorite by far.

For the most part, everyone says the first persona you play is the best. I started with 4 and it still stands as my favourite.

I loved persona five. Though the friendship wasn’t as “ Organic “ as the persona 4 gang, I personally feel that was intentional. I mean, Chile knew Yukiko and Yusuke before the game. Yukiko knew Kanji, etc. all of them were familiar. But with persona five? The only ones that are somewhat familiar are Ryuji and Ann. I feel the game is trying to show that people can become friends solely on what they find common ground on: all feeling like absolute cast outs by society. And finding comfort in each other to make a place for themselves.

I think one of the strengths of the series is that while it always improves with each title, it still does so in a way that doesn't antiquate the previous ones. I could really see a case made to have any of the main series games as #1

So far I have only played the neo persona games, and currently playing 3 and have just beaten the Lovers boss
1st place is 5
2nd is place 3
3rd is place 4
But of course, all of them are amazing games!

Oh It's just a preference haha. But i would say although I rank them like this all of the game sit close to each other for me. In my long video ranking I rank them all in S haha 😄
@The Midnight Channel yeah I love them all. P3 is hands down my favourite, but I think 5 and 4 really trade blows and I can’t say which one I like more.
Hopefully Atlus will release Persona 6 as soon as possible, so that after Persona 6 is released, Atlus can focus on making Persona 4 Remake including Golden, Persona 6 Spin-Off and Persona 1 & Persona 2 Remake. One more thing, they need to present not only Igor and the Velvet Room Attendants, but also Nameless & Belladona as background music performers for the Velvet Room and Philemon.
I feel like you could put 3, and 5 anywhere in the top 3 and it would be fine. All incredible games that do different things better and click with different people in different ways. Persona 1 and 2 near the bottom is understandable as well since they’re kinda the black sheep of the series.
I think a lot of people will be upset about 4 being at 3rd but honestly I get it, the story and music of 5 and 3 just stick with me more

@@gogoletsgoletsgodateko388 play It’s honestly up to you, I played original p4 and had a fantastic time however there is some grinding, Golden is a lot easier and adds an extra dungeon but I still think it’s up to you which one you play

P5 was my Introduction to the genre but I’ve seen every single game whether it was streamed or video and honestly P5 and P3 are both stuck at 1st for me since their music and story is amazing

Never in my whole life have i seen a ranking closer to mine than yours (altough i haven't gotten to p2 yet so that could change)
The only thing thats stops me from putting P3 at the top of my list is the less streamlined gameplay, which will probably change with P3R
Persona 4 is my first game and still my favorite. It caused me a lot of sleepless nights and late homework.

Persona 3 for me as well. Just finished P3P again on the PSP recently. P5 is great but nostalgia (3 being my intro to the series) hits hard.

@@TheMidnightChannel I think it's great in terms of story and random encounters is what ruined the experience for a lot of people. Regardless of how you feel about the game, it's outdated and it needs to be remade

I just bought persona 3, 4 and 5, working on 5 and im loving it! I saw a playthrough of 4 several years ago but i forget a lot of it so I plan to play it myself when I finish 5. Should I play 3 or 4 next?

P1 is like such a pain in the ass. I think there’s good reason >90% of the people rate it so low.
Pretty much agree, P3FES is arguably the best of them all, the game just got everything. P4 / P4G on the other hand was the first Persona i played, well i can say it holds a pretty special place in my heart especially with all the heartwarming friendship and rural living thingy. P5R was a revolutionary for Persona games, new gameplay mechanics and all, but idk man somehow the story just feels more shallow than the other two. If P2 gets a remake sometime in the future, it would seriously contend for the best Persona game spots
In my theory, the best persona will always be the one you play first, the first experience with the game is incredible, in my case it was 3 too

I believe that wichever game one plays first is the one that remains your favorite, just my opinion, since i first played p1 psp and really enjoyed the game, but i love every single game of the persona series, but one thing that i really didn't like is how the protagonists of p1 vanished since p3, with only some mencions in who's who,

Played P5 first but ended up loving P3 more sooo...

@@hardcopetillo69 to be fair, other than small bias I have towards Persona 3 I like all Persona games and love a few more than others.
With recently playing persona 3 reload and persona 5 royal makes me wanna play the rest of the persona games. Ive been obsessed with this series and id love to play 1, 2 and 4 next
1. P2 Duology (especially Eternal Punishment)

3. P5
4. P4
5. P1
P1 = 100% best soundtrack. Kama Palace + Eriko's Theme + Post Disaster City 1 solos all other tracks in the franchise.
P2 = Best characters + Best story. Not a single playable character I actually dislike, and they're all able to really develop throughout the story, without their development revolving mainly 'cause of the main characters' presences like in P4/5 + without social links in general. Sob worthy story, thought about it days after finishing P2EP. (wrote extra much here, maybe I'm biased)
P3 -- Best atmosphere & theme. Feels really clean, and it's probably got the best story after P2. Best vibes out of all games
P4 -- Best setting & Slice of life. Like the location of it all, rural towns over big cities. It feels like the most realistic game out of the modern Persona games like social--simulator wise, 'cause you get to experience having friends in school and living with a kind--of family in a lot more normal way than P3/5.
P5 -- Obviously best gameplay. TBH liked the shuffle time in the two previous games, but y'know, lots of new "puzzles" and the non--auto--generated palaces. Really good mechanics, but y'know, it's the most modern one out of all Persona games so it makes sense.
