ENT vs Anesthesia Which is better Because I'm interested in ENT but depressed seeing how everyone is asking to go for Anesthesia or Opthal instead People say Anesthesia is much better then ENT is many aspects like income scope growth Please guide on this sir... I'm totally confused after hearing all this
@@conceptsofmedicine4586 I totally understand what people are saying. I can simply give my example, I wanted to operate so I had only 3 major surgical options ENT-HNS, Gen Surg & Ortho (Gyn/obs has limited surgical scope, not wide variety + it's typically female branch, same with ophthalmology only micro surgery, not much of variety or major surgeries which lacks feel of surgery). So, my rank offered me with ent-hns & I'm more than happy. So, for me money/settlement was never my priority, I wanted work satisfaction/passion. Believe me, your interest will fetch u more money too. Now FACT : Anaesthesia initially better income (freelancing) than any surgical speciality.. But over the time there's capping. On the other hand surgical branches have sky as limit. Ophthalmology is totally microsurgery, long learning curve & salary wise decent.. But, main thing is just check rates of any surgery in ayushman/any other card, too less. I believe ophthalmology was once highly earned due to lack of surgeons, but now I doubt.
Anaesthesia would be better in years to come. If you see any job recruitment you will know. Money is something that doesn’t depend on branch, there’s potential in every branch, but if you see the market anaesthesia is certainly scaling heights rapidly. Anaesthesia will hit a plateau after a phase but even in plateau it’s Good enough to fetch you more than enough money to afford luxury. Ent is a surgical branch so it will always scale with time and also on your skills. However if ENT is your passion then go for it. Don’t compromise on your passion.
@ChhinuChoudhary-t9k the only advice is to think about 10 years later,, r u happy with roaming at multiple places for OT or handling icu calls.. Or u want to have that surgeon's feel, sit in opd but it comes with a drawback of more responsibility & risks also involved during surgeries. Less egoistic, easy & fun loving person - anaesthesia/ent anything. Passionate, more ambitious, more egoistic - only ent-hns among both. I'm saying this by my experience & also seeing frustrated people in both fields. Anaesthetist have to try hard to make their importance feel once they age & that might hurt. Whereas ent-hns at later stages is more fruitful surely provided you are good at your surgeries.
Not really, temporal bones ears & larynx/neck, lateral/anterior skull base can't be officially touched by maxillofacial surgeons. Still I would say there's about 40-45% overalap. Maxillofacial is a good branch, the only problem in India is of recognition yet 👍
@@the.head.neck.surgeon7 though not the skull base surgery but laryngeal surgeries can be performed if fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology is done. Same applies to ent , only after persuing fellowships then they can either do skull base or head and neck.
