After almost 10 yrs now I've been admiring your tonfa skills. And the question is : Why the hell haven't you done more of these tonfa videos ? After 10yrs you could have made small fortune by now.
daniel ragle Are you talking bout mortal kombat characters? by the way i have never seen tonfa ever used in such a way. like he does, moving it around like bruce lee uses his nun-chuks.
Now that's the traditional and modern use of the tonfa. Very impressive, much like my main weapon the simple rattan stick. I'm glad I saw someone take an interest in this weapon. I rarely see it ever be used professionally.
Demonstrations like this are the reason you want the baton with the trumbull handle. Got that nice big domed top to keep it from slipping out of your hand while you're spinning it.
I've been watching this in the U.S for 13yrs now and hoping someone could share general info about this guy...... Is he still alive, if not did he die as good man ? I don't speak French and I'm sure others would like to know. Time for someone to speak on his behalf. Good or bad his story needs to be told.
+bobstery 7977 No, watch a movie in which Bruce Lee is the main actor. Not go see a movie with him, though I wish I could do that too. It's the cinematography, the music, and the action that brings the nostalgia in waves for me.
I am fairly proficient in the tonfa but nothing matching this. Did not even know it could be used in this way. Most of my forms are fairly ridged two handed katas.
Hahahaha yeaah !! Too bad they will be separated later in life and battle each other's crusade, but they'll be reunited.. im pretty sure.. just have to go and collect 108 companion first. ^_^
+Jannik Raeder i am cop and i do carry tonfa, but i am not that good as this guy, much respect for him. We use them for RIOT as it easy to shove away the crowd. I sometimes use it on aggressive guys for an assault takedowns, as i am small guy only 170cm(5'6) and 72kg(~160lb) and some guys are a lot bigger than me. But most of the time we use tasers or just overwhelm oponent to minimise chances of injuries. Also our chiefs say to use spec. gear and not fists to minimise injuries to suspects
+Leonard Nedosekov I agree with you, half of the whipping and freestyling, bruce lee does in movies with nun-chuks are not even possible in real life scenarios. but practicing them does make you good at it. just like no one does a 720 kick in a streetfight unless the guy who is fighting really sucks at it. but practicing such kicks improves your stamina, flexibility and reflexes.
You sure? Yeah, blades would do more damage, but you can do just as much damage breaking someone's arm than cutting them up. Don't play the ace when you can win with a 2.
This is awesome but I think Tony Jaa used them better in Ong-Bak. He had two, huge metal ones. It was badass. You can easily kill people with tonfas. I would attach a blade at the end of the tonfa for slicing my enemies.
This is the best Tonfa video on the internet.
Agreed! I've been checking out tonfa videos for a while now, this one is pretty much the only one that I like.
Police carries tonfa all the time never seen one using this way. This was just epic. Makes wanna buy one and learn it.
Because most of them don't know martial arts
After almost 10 yrs now I've been admiring your tonfa skills.

Now that's the traditional and modern use of the tonfa. Very impressive, much like my main weapon the simple rattan stick. I'm glad I saw someone take an interest in this weapon. I rarely see it ever be used professionally.

I've been watching this in the U.S for 13yrs now and hoping someone could share general info about this guy......
Is he still alive, if not did he die as good man ? I don't speak French and I'm sure others would like to know.

The music from 300 is perfect for this xD
what type of Tonfa do you recommend?
ive never seen any shop selling tonfas here in japan. its cool but is a weapon. if someone hits me in my arm with it, my arm will get 200% broken.
Is he using a rubber tonfa? it seems to be bending as he is using it...
the form at the begining is amazing. But it's kind of hard to follow.. can you post a tutorial or something? Thanks and keep up.
This makes me want to go watch a Bruce Lee movie
Umm what? Scream with him?
+bobstery 7977 No, watch a movie in which Bruce Lee is the main actor. Not go see a movie with him, though I wish I could do that too. It's the cinematography, the music, and the action that brings the nostalgia in waves for me.

ive always wondered why the police carry tonfa but dont know how to use it.. :P
i always wonder why there are are so many people who are such assholes

Now just add some blades to the side of those tonfas and you have an amazing weapon.
Such a bad idea.
:57 "Prepare to be raped with my Tonfa...."

No way against tonfa..

men with wigs do too much

and the motto of the police in your country is to serve and to open beers, or?
just kidding though...
no shit.
