Wonderlik om te sien. Baie dankie. Ek self in 2002 laaste keer hom gery en voor dit in 1987. Toe was oom Japie Pienaar die drywer. Wonderlike ervaring.
Greetings from Bergvliet, Cape Town, South Africa. The whistle has an interesting sound to it on the loco pulling the train on your trip but I recognise the sound of the whistle from the train that passed yours on it's way to Knysnna and then the one (one of my personal favourites) from the train you watched going across one of the bridges at the end of the video.
Many thanks for watching my video. The locos were class 19’s, which were widely used across the SAR network. You can see more of my films of SA steam on the video of the ‘Union Limited’.
Our 'Stokers' of that period was a little more 'slim' than the 'stoker' on that train...we work on the mainline's in South Africa and sweat a hell out on every trip..so the woman like our 'stokers' body's!!
