Those springs used to be all over the UK militaria sites as NOS replacements. I'll be working on replacement canvas buttplate and cheek covers here shortly, using a mint ZT&L canvas.
Request - watched your videos on the rem 870 and mossberg 500 trigger groups. A friend wants to sell his 500 currently, can you give an update on durability? I have an 870 but not a 500. I've heard the disconnect is a weak point but haven't found much info about this online.
I really don't think it is a factor to worry about. They are both good under most circumstances. You would have to check with people who run them like crazy for a better answer.
There is so much false information repeated over the years about PIAT.......first, the spring is the main means of pushing the 2.2lb projo 110 yards. Then, the sub caliber tray is for launching 2in Mortar Rounds. I think the past authors are confusing the use of PIAT in the indirect fire more for house busting and the purpose of the tray. The action spring isn't going to be enough energy to push a 2in HE round a hundred yards, let alone, 300 yards. And even if the firing pin strikes the primer of the initator cartidge in the 2in round, there is no enclosure to maximize the expanding powder gasses to use the spring energy + burning mortar cartridge to push the 2in HE out to 300 yards-like if you (negligently) throw a 9mmx19 cartridge in a campfire, the powder/primer will eventually burn but the brass case is going to split and shred, the projo only travelling a few feet.. That tray is as you say, strictly for the sub-caliber practice/training round, to economize training new gunners, or to facilitate gunners using a field expedient range which would be unsafe using the HE energetic rounds. Numrich/GunPartsCorp still has a few replacement parts for it, I haven't been able to find a replacement bolt, main spring or firing pin yet. I am making replacement canvas gaitor for the tube and buttplate covers with new recoil pads, probably by end of January early Feb.
Yeah some of the false info is because they made a few experimental rounds with 2 inch mortar heads to use with the piat. I assume the story worked it's way into firing unmodified 2in ones. Yeah I can't get parts from numrich because they won't ship to me.
❤❤
I always love when you post. God bless brother.
Thanks, glad you appreciate it.
Well done! Crude....But achieves the mission.
Had to figure it out something, since I can not find manuals that explain how to do it. For the cost and how well it works, I'm happy with it.
that is a menacing looking spring right there.
Definitely not a joke but as long as you are not standing in its way it is manageable. You definitely will get winded fighting it though.

Most excellent!! Again, my many thanks
Glad it was useful, Thanks for watching.

A simple very big zip gun
Yup like a simple direct blowback rifle without a magazine.
