i listened to juice wrld ever since “All girls are the same” in early 2018, back when he had a fanbase of less than 50K people or so. i was able to watch him eventually grow into the artist he was, and when he passed, i didn’t believe it at all. Even though its unfortunate that people just found out about him through his death, Im still happy that people are finally enjoying his music.

“If it wasn’t for the pills I won’t be here, but if I keep taking these pills I won’t be here” When I first heard this I lost it... due to the fact of how true that is I and of how much that hit me I just cried because it hurts so much knowing that he literally predicted the sad but inevitable future. It’s almost like he just knew he was going to die and that kills me inside.. 😭
Juice was different. He was by my side in the good times, and he was there to support me in the bad times. I could always play his music at a party or in my car with my friends to turn up, and I could always sit on my bed and listen and cry when I needed to. He was always there for me. Every single time I needed him he was there. And then he wasn’t... and suddenly the glue that was holding me together ripped apart when I read the headlines. My entire world was swept out from under my feet in that moment. It felt like I had lost my father, my brother, my son, and my friend all at once. He held a special significance in my life that no other artist will ever hold. Suddenly all I had was his music, and i felt the most helpless and alone I had ever felt in my life. Then Legends Never Die came out and things were bittersweet. The album was the best album I’d ever heard, and it made it feel like he was there with me again. I cried for hours the day it released. Wishing Well hit me the hardest by far. I’ve never missed someone so much in my life... especially without ever meeting them in person. It’s just that he helped me so much and I could always depend on him... I think I speak for most Juice fans when I say this

Having mental disorders - when they trigger: my past & memories roll through my head, and they're the worst memories and things that I did that I wished I hadn't. It's like being at war with your own mind everyday. I'm a recovering alcoholic, 9+ alcohol free and still going. I have BPD (borderline personality disorder), Blackout rages caused by the fight or flight adrenaline, PTSD, anxiety disorder, clinical depression... I attempted suicide a few times until my older brother mad me promise him I'd never do it again. I've never broke a promise made to my brother but since he passed suddenly at age 42 in 2007 my mental disorders have been pretty much outta control again. Especially after just a little over a year later my mom passed suddenly in 2008. Now I'm older than my big brother & it just isn't right!!
I'm definitely going to listen to more Juice because this song hit me hard.

If you ask me the verse sounds better ending with “I stopped taking the drugs and now the drugs take me.” It does suck tho because those bars are a crucial part of the verse. Maybe they could’ve rearranged it instead? Idk. I’m not a producer.

The way Juice impacted such an eclectic variety of fans truly shows how talented he was. We all struggle with depression and a lot of us are struggling or have struggled with addiction. It genuinely hurts knowing he's gone. Everyone from every genre wanted to work with him. If there's one good take away from all of this is that it's showing a younger generation that it's okay to be depressed, you just gotta be open about it and seek help if that's what you need. Haven't been impacted by a musician's death since Kurt. RIP Juice
