@@saeyabor I actually really liked the song. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to music, at least secretly, I like what I like. I actually like it. It's got this kind of unique feeling, it tells a story in a way. It describes the kargra perfectly and sounds pretty dang good 😊
13:03 They can have some gold as a treat. I do agree with your outrage at them getting the lore wrong. Felt like they wanted to male this monster somewhere that doesn't destroy your equipment or eat your money when that's the point
These guys are so hard to scan in No Man's Sky! I can see these things getting swat like flies by powerful earth elementals and gods of races like deep gnomes and dwarves. Also, when did you become a music producer? Bc I'm loving it!
Hey AJ, awesome video, loved how you called out WotC 😂 on the stats. The music at the end was such fire 🔥 🚒 🔥 it was really good! I see in the comments the excitement and love for this creature and the music. I'm kinda surprised by it, never thought people even would care, it such a obscure creature. Glad people still enjoy the old school monsters. I don't think I have ever noticed the double scimitar at the end of the desk. What no Naginata 😮 When I first read how the double scimitar works in 5e. I thought no way that's the dragon paw mechanics, from Dark*Sun. Again awesome video AJ, I have watched it 3 times already, lots of information your videos are so good! Thanks AJ, you have a wonderful day!
Yes, but it seems revealing of the lack of nuance that's so frustrating in D&D. Teeth that shred iron do as much damage as getting stabbed by a knife? Ridiculous
I may have asked this before, forgive me, but have you done separate videos on the elemental planes? The closest things I can find in your videos are references in the Genasi and Jin videos
Amazing video AJ, What modifiers would the teeth and fins be if turned into weapons? Same with the scales for armor? Also will songs be your new outros?
Adding materials from other planes of existence allows base enchantment and the more different planes are involved, the more difficult the process and the more + get added, or the more magic effects the material can hold. Gygax explained this in a Dragon article once I am sure... anyway, it makes perfect sense to me. Oh, and I dunno, the songs seem to be popular.
Yeah, 5e ruined these. 1d4+1 damage? No. 3d6 minimum. It shreds metal, so that is generous. These always struck me as combination worm and bony fish, like the armored fish that existed long before the dinosaurs, whose jaws were external bony plates rather than internal jaws with teeth. As the digestive tract expands, it causes the first couple rows of scales to flick out, shredding whatever doesn’t fit completely into the digestive tract. It doesn’t actually “bite”. It just shreds whatever couldn’t be swallowed entirely. Any concentration of refined metals will attract them. They don’t have to digest as much that way. That steel sword is like raw sugar to them, unlike a vein of ore full of impurities that they have to break down and excrete. Dwarves love and hate these things. Once killed, they can be smelted down to provide lots of metal, but killing them is difficult.
If the vast majority of its diet is iron, then presumably their more metallic components would be similarly comprised. Sounds like a job for rust monsters. 🤷 Edit: spelling
So AJ think we will ever be getting a video of all the metals in the forgotten realms, I know you did some in your metallurgy video but the forgotten realms has a lot of stuff to go over. Plus you did all drugs in forgotten realms.
Hey AJ. WEIRD question for you. If a creature has a reaction that can teleport them a certain distance away. can they use that reaction in between attacks of something that has extra attack? would that change for multiattack?
For anyone too stupid or dense to understand why they made the damage 1d4 I’ll explain it for you. It’s a CR 1/8 monster that is meant to be used against low level players and in large amounts.
Its an extremely rare creature, and if played correctly, it has to roll twice, successfully, just to land a single bite attack, so, its likely to get killed quickly anyway. I stand by what I said. If anything, they got the CR wrong.
He doesn't exactly mention this in the video, but apparently Khargra make music that would blend in with Korn or Linkin Park.
How about Pantera or Disturbed

What a fishing trip that would be. I could see dwarves with huge poles sitting next to a portal drinking and pulling these in.

There was no reason for that song to go as hard as it did, but it was amazing and I approve. Is it anywhere as a standalone??
Started the video; happened to see a comment about KORN. Thought, “Cool.”
Then AJ stopped talking and smacked me in the face with tasty bacon-rock.
