@zaoribah It depends on what individual pedals you compare to. I do think you can get really great tone from the M9, including overdrive and distortion. I'm not sure about the fuzz in it, can't decide if I really like it yet....
Actually, I was getting a full guitar amp (Randall V2), but I changed my mind over the months and decided to get the POD HD500 with a powered PA speaker. :P
Personally, I like when you play thru the bigger heatseeker / larger speaker cabinet. That sound in your earlier videos is killer! I think small Mack GEM restricts the warmth and makes everything too weak and alike whatever the setting. Otherwise, superb playing and presentation!
IF you want to use distortions through a power amp your probably better looking at the HD effects as they have amp modelling as well. Even the originals of the distortions modelled wouldnt sound great through just a power amp as they are designed to go through tube pres usually.
Rob, i really like your sound through the mack(18 watt especially) amp direct.Would you really compare sound and feel of the M9 to individual drive stomp boxes?.These processers always sound and feel thin /compressed and sucking the life and definition from my amp.Like your amp is there but its not there.
Thinking about buying one of these, I normally play in drop c or b tuning, so bands like August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, All That Remains and so on. Do you think this would be a good buy for me? You played some "old rock" or "old metal" in your video, just curious as to how much it compliments the new "metalcore" type of genre. Also this next question is a bit silly, but does this plug into your amp or your powerpoint? Thanks ^_^
I think I'll get an m9 or m13 and use my real amps only instead of my xtlive. Their amps sound real but there's always a thinness compared to my JCM600 or my 6505. Another weird thing about Line 6 sims is you have to keep dialing them in, then the sound jumps out at u. B4 that happens the amp sound is 2-dimensional and bland, but then SUDDENLY the sim sounds like the real amp. But u can lose it again!
I'm just wondering, would the distortions sound good for a live band setting? I'm getting a 400w SS amp head in the future, but its pretty much a one trick pony for high gain, but with the high wattage, would make a perfect power amp. Are the distortions reliable for actual recording and live use, or would I be better off using a higher end OD/Distortion pedal for that extra versatility?
hey umm im looking fo loopers that I can use with my peavey 30 because the one with my sanperra 1 does not have the option to overdubb but i still want to use the amps distorrtion over a clean sound can i do this with the M9 please answer and a great few vids u have on it thx
Let me go to A pawnshop and buy A piece of crap amp and give it to this guy and Ill bet he can plug in that guitar with the tone built into his fingertips and you will all want to go and buy it.But it does sound very good to me. Technology is gaining ground rapidly.
Came here for your distortion, fell in love with the clean tone!

I think the best tone is on the first setting the classic distortion.
@rockpwnsu Great, all my Line 6 gear sounds great and no reliability issues.

5:24 LOL
wow you wear the action very low
@campclimax dang if you think thats alot you should hear my gear... he barely has it on there. haha
Good sounds for a 20 year old unit. But sounds old now
where is your accent from?
@slashg21
Nope, metal. really durable.
I think people who consider this one pedal with different eq options are pretty funny. way to judge a product from youtube vids.

same distortion with EQ patches = nothing special or worth getting
ahahaha
turn that godamn delay off so I can hear what it actually sounds like!
