    I am so into this car. I like that Corvairs are so different. I've seen a million SBC, SBF, Coyote-swap, LS-swap videos to last a lifetime. GM dared to be different with the Corvair; air-cooled rear engine cars built in America, how cool is that?. I'm not a GM guy but I want a Corvair. Love the channel, love what you're doing, please don't stop.

      Thank you so much! They are such unique cars and imagine that if production and development had continued how special they could be now. It truly is like the American Porsche (and I'm a big Porsche guy).
      Hope to have it all back together after the new year and looking forward to driving it again.
      Merry Christmas,
      Sean

    When I was in high school in the mid ‘90’s I used to find these Corvair’s sitting on side yards and would ask the owner what they were gonna do with the car. They pretty much all said I could have it…as long as I took the other 2 that were in the back yard. I got free cars. Got them running with minimal effort and gave them away or traded them for spare engines for my 1960 Corvair that was my daily driver at the time. So many late hours spent at night redoing the brakes and replacing seals and occasionally having to remove the engine using a crappy floor jack so I could replace throw out bearings. I sold my last Corvair at a loss 4 years ago and I regret it. I still have a few hard to find parts for my next project if I ever get the motivation to go through with it. I’m reliving the past watching your videos. Thanks for posting them and thanks for saving this car.

    I found a 1995 corvair for $3500 and it comes with spare parts. The only thing is, the car does not run as of yet. I’ve been binging your vids and you have motivated me to buy it. I might have to wait until January to buy this car (broke college student) but i am so exited to work on this car… hopefully it’s not flooded😂. Plus these cars look so easy to work on especially for a college student like myself. Please continue this series you really are a underrated youtuber, you explain everything so that a person like me would understand.

    Enjoying your videos. Good to see an interest being taken in Corvairs. We had them for 30 years. Sean that Vair looks very solid. Have you had other Corvairs in the past.

    Is there a video or instruction of how you made the engine cradle ? And a parts list and balance points ? We are pulling the engine,tranny and rear axle and having issues with tranny jack ,don't trust it. Great videos btw. Love them.

    • @AutoAnatomy

      I didn't make a video on the cradle, just held up some angle iron and started welding. I know there are some posts on the Corvair Forums that have specs for making a cradle.

    I need to build one of those engine cradle adaptors for my floor jack. Any chance you can do a quick video of the materials list and balance points? So far, I have pulled my engine twice using a standard engine crane, (engine dropped to a standard moving dolly) and while it works well enough I need to remove the carbs to sling a chain in the right places. Hint: there are 3/8" threaded holes in the top of each head and I didn't want to trust using the carb studs alone with all that weight.

      Yes, the tunnel covers are missing on the car. Clark's does sell replacements but they're out of stock (and have been for a while now).

    The engine was full of water, you're going to have to rebuild everything if you want it to be a reliable daily driver. Don't cut corners just dive in while it's out.

    • @AutoAnatomy
      @AutoAnatomy  3 года назад

      I understand the concern. The engine is extremely clean inside, all the rod journals are in great shape and I’m confident the mains would be as well. It’s not cutting corners, it’s being wise (I believe). If there was any concern about the engine, the case would be split, without a doubt

      The engine tear down and rebuild were more detailed in what you did. On rebuild you mentioned the exhaust header work but did not show what you did to solve lead. In pulling out the motor the axels and mounts went by partially in video but explanation was limited. I still enjoyed watching.
