kinda big.. they get posionus after a certain size because they eat a posionus fish on the reef.. better be carefull and even if its not fish isnt GREAT.. its avg at best..

In my area Cape Coral, Sanibel you have to worry about the Bull Sharks, they tend to be more aggressive than the G white ones, plus our water tends to be a bit murky thanks to lake Okeechobee. So when you see them they are about 10-15 feet from you...

He couldn’t shoot the grouper because it was too big and powerful. He wouldn’t be able to keep his gun and bring the fish to the surface.

i loved the music.
The Barracuda we get in the Tropics, Australian and the South Pacific are very aggressive, Are these barracudas not aggressive in North/east pacific? You would not see too many people in Australia shooting barras well. and they are considered to be really bad eating. but more of a game fish because they fight so hard and well.
I would worry about ciguatera with those 'cudas. I don't want my last words to be, "wow, 'cudas taste great!"

you can make fun of me using tanks ANYTIME you want to because you are a real freediver, unlike some of the big mouths who condemn the tankers and then go down and shoot dinks or use floats to get decent sized fish to the surface. I grew up in Miami freediving but I am 69 years old now and can't make it down to the decent fish. Thanks for a GREAT video. I commend you!

Dario, great vid even with the poor mid-water vis. Do you eat those big 'cudas (you are a real Cuda-killer!)? Not afraid of ciguatera in those bigger ones? I am 70 years old and don't have the breathe holding anymore and switched to tanks a few years ago. Ran spearfishing tourneys in Panama City, FL for years and we used tanks back then because of the depth of the Northern GoM. If you have never shot up there, give it a try sometime and be SURPRISED. The area still holds large grouper, great snappers and some enormous A/Js (and everyone eats the A/Js there because there is very few fish that transmit the ciguatera and they are delicious on the grill).

Well filmed. Did you eat the Cudas? They taste great but are big carriers for fish poisoning, I steer clear of them now... The last shot of the GG in the bait was beautiful. What camera do you use/mount?

I use Midland 280, it is not the best camera but pretty good value for money. The cudas were given to the owner of the boat who eats them with family and friends. You are right though, you gotta be careful with them.
