I love migrating to Tacoma for the summers definitely getting a must break from Las Vegas I work during the summer time and during winter I come back to Las Vegas and work
Sister works in downtown tacoma... naked homeless is not unheard of. Her coworker saw a naked homeless guy jump and cling onto the back of an SUV to hop a ride. Lock your car doors and keep eyes strait ahead for safest traveling through tacoma. The beloved aroma is not often around, but on a good day you also need a noseplug
Hello all, I had the opportunity/misfortune to live in Tacoma from June to December 1999. I was staying with friends when I know there was something uneasy I started to scout for a place to live (outdoors) unfortunately. My spot was along Pacific Ave. , My hang out 38th street tavern (no lo longer there 9:11 ). And work was at labor ready on 6th St. A twenty minute bus ride, a50 minute bike ride, and hour and twenty minute walk ( did all three) from a bus stop at 34th along Pacifich
I grew up in Tacoma in the 1960’s. I remember that tavern and the Flying Boots Cafe. My parents always got our furniture at Schoenfelds downtown, I think on Pacific Ave. We also shopped at Woolworths. A lot has changed downtown.
@@le_see true haha .. but i was there in winter and it was very green. Also very rainy and grey. But I loved it. I wish there was a Tacoma summer tour video. Cant find any POV.
North End, Ruston, and University Place and Gig Harbor are the good places to live if you have money. Rough parts of Tacoma are Hilltop, South Hosmer. Pacific Ave is sketch due to the amount of homeless you might see coming from the South End, but generally safe. I’ve lived here my whole life, I have an idea of where I feel safe and don’t.
@ShoneDaddy tacoma is not a good place. The only reason to move to the west is if you have time and ambition to get out and experience nature. If you don't, then don't come here. Everything else sucks; the people, the traffic, the prices, everything sucks, but the nature us amazing. That being said, if you want to move to this area, avoid the whole seattle-tacoma area, move further away like gig harbor or Bonney lake, if you can afford it. The worst parts of tacoma are everything between I-5 and Portland Ave, that being said, most of the crime is in commercial areas, which is very unlike most other U.S cities, therefore, west of I5 is not any better if you're in a commercial area.
@@BustaShenanigans I’m just trying to work there because y’all have high minimum wage, and save up. Eventually find housing. I’m gonna stay at a shelter for a couple months but also have friends out there. Do you think Is it safe enough to do that?
Totally changed from the rough port city I remember! New building and lack of graffiti and homeless encampment is obvious. That city is doing something right unlike the dystopia of Seattle!
@@ShoneDaddy I grew up in pierce and king county during my teens and I am there working occasionally doing sub contracting. I really enjoy that area of the united states. It is dangerous no lie. The gang sets, homeless, mischievous juveniles.
@@ShoneDaddy its Ok, if you get into a nice neighborhood, but for the population, size, theres really not a lot going on, most everything you are going to want to do requires you to drive there. And while this makes the city looks interesting, it's a lot of empty buildings. Its more like a giant small town
Grey skies = No People Night time is a different story if ur not from here probley best you avoid the eastside, hilltop, portlant ave, hosmer, chocolate city, lakewood and downtown tacoma at night but if ur just respectful and mind ur own you will be good.
Completely dead. Where are the people? No one walks in the USA and contrast in Europe you see kids and teens and adults and old people all mixing together
I don't know Tacoma for sure, but generally speaking our cities are far more car-centric. people are: 1. indoors in their homes 2. indoors at their jobs 3. indoors at some particular place (restaurant etc.) 4. in a car in-between those places sadly there are fewer pedestrianized places than Europe, so walkability and consequently people walking about isn't as much of a thing - it's particular walkable neighborhoods, malls, parks, etc. that you'll see more people in. things are starting to change and cities are trying to revitalize downtowns to become more attractive to live and explore, but it's a slow and ongoing process.
Four generations of my family have lived in Tacoma. It's good to see the old town. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!.
The Pacific Northwest is where it's at ☔🌲

Geez .. no people. Gloomy. Winter. Paints quite a depressing picture. I'm going to find a summer Tacoma video haha.
Sadly, it is how most of the PNW cities look like in winter. Lol

I’ve been looking at cities to relocate to from Miami. Tacoma always looks nice in videos but have heard it’s rough, can anybody shed light on this.

Where is the people?!! 😕
People are usually home during winter here. Lol.
Stop on yellow. Interesting. Great video. I visited it's more famous cousin (Seattle) years ago.
So many shops are closed.

Looks safe and clean, but could be cherry picked
I just don't know. Why American cities are so empty of people?
People here rarely come to the downtown during weekends in winter.
