At 10:25 it was dope how the fish darted away!
That's the spot! There's a good weed line right there that drops off to about 12 feet from that drain pipe to the corner passed the restrooms.

Dude the fish tongs must be a godsend for handling those slime log barracuda
Hope they are soft. That cuda he threw back was dead when it hit the water. I figured if you hold a fish by the gill with pliers it’s probably not good for them. Use your hands. You don’t like the slime then get a towel. I cringe every time I see those pliers. Never seen anyone else do this
I always bring my rod just for fun when my wife and daughter want to swim or paddle board here. Caught some spotties with a 2.5" white Kalins grub on 3/8 oz. jig head and randomly caught a Mac on a float with a size 6 hook baited with leftover bread from a sandwich I had for lunch 😅. I've seen what I believe are mullet jumping out of the water along the weed bed and had some decent sized corbina swim past my knees while fishing standing in the water.
Thought I’d try fishing Bahia point this afternoon.After getting one good bite on shrimp on my big rod, it was a swing and a miss! After that the personal board craft started buzzing my lines repeatedly not 20 yards off shore. Can’t wait for labor day to be over so we can shed some of these inconsiderate tourists.

You should use ghost shrimp and fish Bahia for spotfin and yellowfin croaker

You need to go offshore dude! Some more yellowtail fishing videos. I just went last weekend and boat limited on Dorado at the start of fishing our second kelp. Yellowtail were biting like crazy as well. We went out on the Liberty.

I'm ALWAYS shore pounding. That's the only time I get out on a boat. Just saying, if you get tired of pulling on macks, it's worth it right now. Came home with over $400 worth of meat.
I got 2 bay rays over 100lbs one was in the 140lb range 2 weeks ago on half cut mackerel that made a water wake like a whale breaching the surface I was using 100lb braided line
Lost my first battle with a bat ray very close to that spot years ago!
What tide chart app do you use, I google tides when ever I am out there, and an app would be much more handy
The kid at hook’d told me keitech has a saltwater line of baits but they don’t carry them. Have you tried them? The fresh water ones they sell are one and done when catching spotties. I fish my kayak by Bahia and I’ve done well. Better spot when tide is coming in. -toilet gang
It's the same thing, just different colors. Nothing special. I've tried them and they don't produce as much as the ones available.

Can't afford to fish, let alone the two hour drive to get to the ocean from Yuba County. Northern California gets hot too, it was 108 the other day. I wish a reduced fee fishing license (if not free) as well as hunting license came as part of being on CalFresh.. if you can't afford food how the hell are you supposed to be able to afford a fishing/hunting license? (yeah I am on it) That one fish acted like a ray just sticking to the bottom like that.
