an awesome must do event. Over the years I have sailed every hour - seeing the sunrise means putting on your sailing kit in the dark and cold but what a wonderful lifting feel it is to see the dawn - and race for the Dawn Cup. From a club sailor's perspective what always amazed me was to find team mates who could win open meeting races lose perspective. Almost every time I took over from others one of the first things I needed to do was ease every control line and feel the boat surge foward with greater power. It was as if the pressure of the race meant all others only ever tightened a control line!
