This video was probably 80% of the reason I just went flawless (as someone who thought it couldn't be done not too long ago). Probably the best pvp commentary I've seen on YT.

I really appreciate how in the latter have you actually have the examples and live commentary-esque gameplay showcasing what you talk about in the first half. Thanks for putting in the effort!
Thx as every week very helpful, the only thing I am missing and would probably benefit others too is weapon recomendations for the week/map, and maybe show us how to play the recommended weapon for this map/week “sniper, “pulse”, “scout” so people are not forced to play a “120”, or even which subclass is good/better for a week/map bc of nates and so on. Thank you!
Thanks for the suggestion! I would want to go into more detail and strategy with other weapons, but I really only have an hour to gather clips on Friday reset before I need to start editing if I want to be done by Saturday night. I use a 120 because it's my favourite weapon, and I'd say you'd be better off picking up a 140, DMT, Lorentz Driver, Le Monarque, a Fusion, or a Pulse on most maps. It's just a good baseline weapon that I think translates well to other weapons with more or less range. For example, if I wanted to use an SMG, I'd probably play the Cubby lanes more often than the Shrine lanes

Hah, I was gonna leave a comment jokingly adding advice about not accidentally getting a bad burst glide bump as you jump around shrine but I see you have that covered too 😅
@@jazzinyourfaces totally, some of these might change between the pauses - shrine var. 2, audio was 3 or more frames ahead; shrine var. 3, audio was 1 or 2 frames ahead; cubby var. 2, audio was 3 or more frames behind; cubby var. 3, audio was 2 or more frames ahead; drain var. 2, audio was 2 (?) frames ahead; drain var 3 and shrine var 3 might be 1 frame ahead, but 1 frame is negligible so whatever. totally valid if you don't think it's worth paying attention to for future videos lol, just somethin i picked up on!
@@EdenPorterMusic Yeah, you're right, thanks for the detailed feedback. I just looked at the editing timeline and there's no shifts in the audio there. I think it might have something to do with the way I'm routing my audio to avoid recording Discord chat. Must be adding a couple of frames of delay. Love these videos. How would you play against good snipers on this map that setup focus on Shrine? You can't jump or take control of shrine without risking getting sniped
That's true, and that's where Cubbies are effective. In my var.1 of Cubbies, it shows how you can split that range of Shrine in half to where snipers tend to set up. A well placed grenade can also force someone setting up to move, allowing you to close the gap
Thank you! If everyone's in Cubby, Shrine var.7 shows how you might want to coordinate with your team to cross and get angles from both sides of Shrine. Nading Cubby can force players back, which is an opportunity for your team to take control of it. But sometimes, your team has to try to meet aggression with aggression. On Friday reset, there were some games where the other team was constantly gaining control of Cubby because our LFG team was too passive, and deciding to go all in together helped us deal with that. I think we only dropped one game using this backup strat, and it was 4 to 5
@@jazzinyourfaces thank you, I will try that when I next play, its usually not the greatest idea to meet aggression with aggression in trials since it usually ends up in trades due to very close proximity fights but I guess if they aren't expecting it, its a good nuclear option, thank you.
@@FiSH_the For sure, in most cases I'd agree, and almost all of my other videos are "retreat and reposition". But Endless Vale is such a small map, and Cubby/Shrine is such a strong place to control the map, that there's really nowhere to retreat to that doesn't put you at a disadvantage. I think that's why sweats tend to love this map. Almost never a slow game, like you'd get from Bannerfall or Widow's Court
@@jazzinyourfaces I think for most people, including me its a rude awakening where playing fast and being on your toes is key, it is a really fast map and like you said repositioning just loses advantages, definitely a harder map to play for the first time in trials
When is it a good idea to use drain path instead of the traditional shrine/cubbies route? Is there some sort of precedent or opposing team habits that makes that path more lucrative?
I think it's good to change things up in general, but I think that flank's effective if the other team tends to set up in the space between their spawn and shrine. If you coordinate with your team, the flank is wide enough that you won't set off the radar, and the other team will likely be focused on your team at Shrine. Just make sure they know what you're doing so they don't commit too hard and get themselves into a 2v3 before you arrive
Tim is right, Igneous Hammer handcannon and Riiswalker shotgun. Igneous is unfortunately no longer available, but there are other great 120 handcannons that perform similarly. I'd recommend True Prophecy in the kinetic slot and Bottom Dollar in the energy

If your time is allowed, grateful if you could prepare the map analysis for 6v6 and 3v3 comp setting.
Trials won't be around for another 4 weeks, so I might do something like that in the meantime. Good suggestion
