I promise Patrick is worth the wait!! Noah Reid and Dan Levy have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen and they have such an incredible relationship that is written and portrayed so beautifully. There's a reason it means so much
Moira (Catherine Ohara, and Eugene Levy) both had quite a history working together on SCTV, which was a Canadian production. They are both in many ways a Canadian institution and nostalgic because of their popularity. It's quite sad in a way "Edith Prickly" (Andrea Martin) who was an icon (Melonville Baths) on SCTV didn't make an appearance on Schitt's Creek. Regardless it's awesome to see viewers are endeared to these awesome characters perhaps for their fist time.
I used to look forward to Schitt's Creek, when ever it started and I heard the tuba at the intro... I had a feeling this is going to be good!. It never disappointed!.
We meet Patrick, (Noah Reid) before the shop opens, he's actually instrumental in helping the shop happen. After the fact and the obvious chemistry which both characters are oblivious of despite flirting, they make one of the best couples in a series.
I think an important part of the legalization of sex work that is not enough talked about is that it would allow for a better control of abuse, exploitation and underage workers. So yeah sex work (when between responsable and consenting adults) !
It's all well and good for people who actually have a choice to do sex work but I imagine that most people who are sex workers, do not have a choice. I imagine most are trafficked. and if they are not trafficked then they have found themselves in a situation where there are few other options. I worked with an organization that worked with a wide range of women from the teenager who left home and started doing sex work for cigarettes and food to the mother of 2 kids who sits on the PTA but had "boyfriends" who help pay her bills. neither of those women wanted to be having sex for money
We’re still a few episodes from meeting Patrick, but of course he’s absolutely worth the wait. And “Special” is an excellent show.
